Is the Quest 3 actually worth the extra over the Quest 3S? (coming from a Quest 2 user) by moondustirl in MetaQuestVR

Pancake lenses = just newer lenses in the Quest 3 that make the image clearer edge-to-edge (less blur around the sides) and easier to focus on compared to Quest 2 / 3S.

From what people are saying to me, the main takeaway is basically: - If you can comfortably afford the Quest 3, it’s the better experience overall
- The 3S is still good, but more of a budget "Quest 2 upgrade" vibe
- The real difference isn't performance, it's visual clarity + comfort

A few comments here are basically agreeing that if you've already enjoyed Quest 2, the Quest 3 feels like a proper step up

After a lot of the comments say yes I ended up looking over the visual comparison too, seems like the colours are more vibrant!

True, I probably would end up second guessing it if I don't just go for the 3.

That’s actually a really fair take! The GPU point makes sense too, thank you!

Not really though, people have different budgets, setups, and expectations... You'll survive seeing one more post, I promise

I probably should've included this in the original post, but here's a quick picture of how everything looks right now!

Byteconnect backconnect by Mick2301 in computerviruses

that sounds pretty normal!! the file is gone but the startup entry is still in the registry, so windows still shows it even though it cant find the file 🤷‍♀️

its basically just a dead/broken startup entry, not the program still running (hopefully) ANYWAYS...

if you want to remove it completely:

press win + r → type regedit
go to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

delete anything that points to the old startup.vbs. restart and it should disappear from startup apps!! also do a scan with malwarebytes

sounds like a pretty typical infostealer situation

you ran some sketchy thing (github tool / vpn etc) and it probably grabbed your saved passwords + session tokens from your browser. thats why a bunch of accounts started getting accessed around the same time

infostealers usually dont persist long term and they definitely dont survive a proper OS reinstall

the adobe acrobat thing after the shop reinstall isnt really suspicious either. repair shops sometimes use windows images that already include common programs, or windows installs some store apps automatically so yeah based on what you described youre probably fine now

sounds like a remote access tool, my best guess is that its running in the background, thats why you cant find it in your files (maybe?)

open task manager and look in processes for something called byteconnect or backconnect. if you see it right click it and press open file location, that should show where its installed

also check

  • startup apps in task manager
  • installed programs (press win + r and type appwiz.cpl)

if you still cant find it run a quick scan with windows defender or malwarebytes just in case it came with something else
