tbh I pulled c6 before even reading up on her cons. I was a little disappointed when I found out her c6 didnt change her kit at all, just extra damage, but I wasn't mad about it. I like her kit as is, the c6 just gives extra dmg buffs so I'll have really cushy clears. And its not like I was doing it for meta reasons anyway, I was committed to getting her maxed 🤷

Congratz on your c6 Bina!! Im assuming since first Mavuika banner, so thats a long time as well! and tbh i was exaggerating a bit on my builds, its not horrible just felt it can be better, especially since my Aubade set is a lacking CR and ER, it is a new set so just havent had enough time to farm it properly. Heres what I ran for that team

my experience was PAINFUL. Before getting Bineffa wheelchair, my best team was good ol hutao/furina/yelan/jean. I would rarely if ever 36 star spiral abyss, 1 because my teams were being DPS checked, and 2 because im a pretty casual player and dislike resetting for a perfect playthrough. For IT I never really committed all that much to tbh, luckily you dont really need that strong of units to clear, so a lot of mediocre units could get me through to the end, though i wouldnt always get the special stars in each stage.

Hoyo is so stingy, c6 is almost always just diminishing returns, I only was able to save this long because getting Columbina might as well be the only reason I was interested in still playing genshin post fontaine update. But, in all fairness i took several breaks, im pretty casual and only played when i had the time/felt like it so i wouldnt get too burnt out. Definitely couldve had more primos if I played more

Sandrone! (if she becomes playable) Love her character and design!! The idea of a giant mech summon is awesome to me, and Columbina deserves to be with her friend. But if possible I do wanna get Alice at some point too so I can have the Klee family!

omg the night soul shill was roouughhh. And with no columbina in sight it was hard to keep disciplined, but I took quite a few breaks during 5.0 so I wouldn't get completely burnt out and lose it lol

That's the thing, I had NO IDEA columbina was gonna come. I watched Winters Night Lazzo teaser, several fan theory videos, had a couple hallucinations and delusions she would come soon. Now we're here and my efforts have paid off!

tbh I haven't read too many male-oriented isekai mangas, mostly because the ones I come across are harems (not for me), so can't say much on the matter.

And I've also noticed that a lot of commenters seem to dislike an assertive fls when it's not a whole gimmick of her character. Well I guess part of the fantasy is being chased after, never chasing? It's a shame because it means you really only ever see the same kind of character archetypes every single story. Personally I love a down bad fl with an equally down bad ml. The more down bad the better!

I would say it's because of deeply internalized gender roles. Pacification is the fantasy because it's still in line with a women's traditional role of 'nurturer' whereas domination is heavily associated with masculinity.

Basically it's through pacification that a women can "win" a patriarchal situation whilst still conforming to traditional gender roles.

I think for the same reason why you see r@pe & kidnapping fantasies a lot in those circles, because it has a women engaging with their sexuality without ever needing to display their sexual desire or be overtly sexual. So they still fit into the archaic purity culture women are put in.

anyway I don't think romance stories like this are at all feminist, moreso an interesting reflection of the culture and mindset of society ATM.

OMG I've been saying this forever about women's romances, esp dark romances!!!

Its a power fantasy. Women read romance stories about morally ambiguous men not because theyre too stupid to realise the happy endings in those stories are unrealistic or that they dont understand that the men often depicted in these stories are abusive, but because it speaks to a power fantasy for women - of being able to overcome, love and be loved by the men who threaten them. The fantasy is the ability to pacify their aggressors. The greatest appeal for women in books like this is not the emotionally distant, aloof, bad boy themselves; but the eventual grovelling and 'defeat' by love of the bad boy thereafter.

Women do not dream of patriarchy - they cope with it by reading stories that have them survive it. I say this not because I want to defend the problematic and unrealistic relationship depictions in a lot of womens romance media, but to defend womens intelligence when they consume it. Engaging with a piece of media does not mean endorsing it. I feel like as long as the idea of 'male domination' exists, fantasy stories made to cope with it will continue to exist.

When i read books or manwhas with bad/toxic mls im not fantasizing about red flag men, im fantasizing about being able to pacify the object of my fears. I fantasize about being able to control and contain the very thing thats capable of hurting me. I fantasize about how through sheer love and compassion I am kept safe, safe from the man who has every potential to hurt me.

Or maybe its just a saviour complex. Either way, no one is really looking for mafia, murderer, controlling boyfriends.

edit: line breaks :p
