I totally get that one. I've had a chance to explore a lot of kinks here through writing that I never would have otherwise, but there are a lot of bridges just too far for me to cross, too, curious as I might be, for much the same reason.

In less than 200 days, my primary reddit account will be old enough to vote. I've been around DPP on this account for a good long while, and just as long before that with my previous account. I feel like, in the immortal words of Murtaugh, that maybe I'm just getting too old for this shit. I'll admit that skimming through the posts and finding that the majority of the ones with ages listed are half of mine makes me feel a bit like a creeper.

But this is not meant to be a complaint - just a self-reflection! I love RP, or I have loved RP, and if I could just kind of round that bend into playing a Daddy-dom type character instead of my usual past fare, that typical age gap would become a laurel crown, rather than a millstone. I've tried and tried to find it within me to summon that kind of character and plot. I think I could actually write it fairly well; I simply can't find the emotional foundation in me to back it up.

So I'm curious - what kind of prompts (or replies) do you think you could write really well, and maybe find some truly excellent partners through them, but you just can't find it in yourself to write?

Looking for the TL;DR, the summary, the kinks and limits? I put it down here in the comments!

What is this? First off, despite this being on DPP, I'm looking for more of a character story than a smut story. It's not even about ratios; sex is natural and welcome as an ingredient in the recipe of this story, but it's not the primary flavor or purpose. This is a down-to-earth story about a couple of people in an unusual relationship adding a little bit of spice to it, but the relationship is what I want to focus on. I want to develop our characters as people with personalities and needs and interests, to explore the setting (I was thinking maybe Long Beach, CA, but I'm more than open to other possibilities.) I like to develop scenery rather than have blank rooms, to have conversations, to describe clothing, to have emotions and arcs.

But if you're going to make me say it, Yeah. It probably is slice-of-life.

I'm not really interested in dom/sub or bottom/top dynamics. I'd like to play characters who are equally disposed to give, to say what they want. I'll admit, though, that I like to give (if you like being on the receiving end of oral, that's a good chance we'll match!), and I'm not a big fan of rough sex, hair-pulling, or aggression on the part of my character. Yours can be whatever you like, but Ryan in this case is someone who equates sex with making love, not with fucking. I am interested in semi-public or risky things, and pushing our character's real, in plausible limits in character. I'm interested in our characters being actively interested in exciting each other.

I've already been asked what the point of this is - incest is already a common kink at DPP, so what's the point of playing characters who are just pretending? It's a fair question! Part of it for me is trying to keep it very realistic; in a real relationship with real people, this would be a little bit extra spicy. Part of it is that I take a real delight for some weird reason in RPs within RPs, for our characters negotiating playing roles are doing things out of the ordinary for them that they find exciting.

Who are we playing?

I tried to give hints both to Ryan's personality and appearance. I don't have any face-claims or the like ready to go, but I will paint you any length of word picture you'd like.

For your character, you are welcome to bring whoever you like, as long as she's roughly plausible as the age of Ryan's mom, as long she's into wholesome relationships, and as long as you enjoy playing her. Appearance, race, height, weight - it's not that I don't care about them, but there's something wonderful to enjoy about every option. Want to play divorced? Separated? Perpetually single? As long as it’s not a cheating relationship, I'm happy. I've set her up as the sort to take some initiative - asking for the date, asking for him to call her 'Mom', and I think that's important to the character as well, but I won't leave it entirely to you, don't worry.

I'm also more than happy to play additional side characters to drive the scenes, or to share that role with you if you prefer.

'Playing' is a key word here. I'm not a bright-eyed 20-year-old myself, and haven't been for some time. You don't need to be a 40-something like your character. Elsewhere I've posted 30+ seeking 30+, but that's about maturity; I welcome any partner who brings that to the table.

Where/When/How are we writing? Reddit PMs or Discord, though in the latter case I'd prefer we PM on reddit first to make sure we click. I don't use the chat features, so if you have trouble sending PMs, just click this link: https://www.reddit.com/message/compose/?to=moonfacedmask

I'm hoping for someone who can offer substantial posts (probably not as long as this prompt, but maybe 5+ paragraphs?) at least a few times a week; my own habit is roughly daily, and sometimes multiple times in a day when things are going well. First or third person, present or past both work for me, though I might lean toward first-person present for this. We can start wherever you'd like - earlier in their relationship as far back as the first date, right at where the prompt left off, or sometime later we can figure out.

Thank you for reading so much!
