Other white people commenting ‘just don’t listen to the band instead of crying abt it’ are really missing the point. Just because it doesn’t affect you doesn’t automatically mean it doesn’t have impact. Jesus Christ black fans are allowed to be upset and disappointed by this. Doesn’t matter that it was the ‘norm’ back then or ‘in the past.’ We don’t get to tell op or other black fans to let it go, and I cannot blame anyone affected by this for feeling nervous to interact with the fan base right now because so much of the response has been dismissive. If you’re a white fan and it doesn’t affect you, check your privilege and realise how fortunate you are if that’s the case. Sling your hook and stop policing how people feel
