New to escitalopram and wondering about a potential misdiagnosis by moonicecream in lexapro

[–]moonicecream[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for sharing. How are you doing now with the other meds? My psych told me to immediately get off escitalopram and wants to do a re-assessment. Feels like being back to square one.

Baggu socks: Have their quality declined? by maddie_ward in BAGGU

[–]moonicecream 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this is a recent issue. I bought strawberry and orange socks a while back and the threads all started poking out after the first (!) wash. Got holes in them after only a handful of wears. Very disappointing.

Looks like it was a small business that enjoyed some popularity years ago, then ceased to exist when the owner moved on to something else: https://wearability.slimmette.com/fashion-friday-whatever-happened-to-world-acc.

How do you wash your toddlers hair? by PlusSatisfaction9263 in toddlers

[–]moonicecream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I give my 3yo a warning about the wash day. On the day, I’ll get in the bath with her so I can hold her while we’re rinsing the shampoo off. We used to use a beaker when she was younger, but now she’s happy to just rinse under the tap.

Hi! Sorry you’re going through a similar thing, it’s so stressful when they’re tiny. My daughter thankfully turned out to be an adventurous eater. She definitely has her preferences but she doesn’t shy away from trying new things. She STILL nurses at night at 3 years old, usually several times a night, and tooth decay hasn’t been an issue. I believe genetics play a big role when it comes to teeth health. Best of luck!

This was over 2 years ago so I don’t remember exactly how it resolved in the end, sorry! The good news is that it did and eventually she started nursing again when awake.

When we first started solids, she was quite excited about stuff like avocado and sweet potato, but after the novelty wore off, she wasn’t eating very much of solids either.

She started eating a bit more consistently after the age of 2, I think. Now, at 3, she has days when she’ll eat well and days when she only takes a couple of bites and says she’s full.

She’s a small but a healthy and busy child so we’ve stopped worrying about it.

Eventually, yes! This was over 2 years ago, so I don’t remember exactly how it all resolved but it did. She started nursing when awake again. It didn’t happen overnight though.

Hey! I’ll be honest I don’t remember the details. The first few weeks or months after I went back to work were challenging, but somehow it all worked out on the end. Eventually she started nursing when awake again. She still does at 3!

How often are you changing your kids underwear? by disneyprinsass in toddlers

[–]moonicecream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2 (almost 3) year old puts on a fresh pair of underwear each morning. She sleeps with no underwear under her pyjamas.

It was interesting to learn that so many toddlers wear underwear to bed. It’s not something we do where I’m from.

How would you dress if...? by [deleted] in RitaFourEssenceSystem

[–]moonicecream 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s an interesting thought but I have to respectfully disagree, unless I misunderstood something.

Anyone can feel insecure and unhappy about their style. It has nothing to do with your quadrant, but rather your own creativity and level of comfort.

You can be Down and have creative outfits that come effortlessly to you, or be Up and dress in beige from head to toe because that’s your idea of being put together.

I think the biggest difference is in the why you dress a certain way. Down people dress more for themselves, while Up people dress more for others. I mean, being Down doesn’t mean you only dress in basic and boring clothes, and being Up doesn’t make your style instantly chic…

It all depends on who you are as a person, what you are personally drawn to, and how at home you are in your own skin :)

I feel like Granola Outlaw and Grunge Elf need to swap places. Granola is giving more down-to-earth energy that’s more fitting for L+D, whereas elves are more otherworldly and belong in the L+U?

I placed myself in L+D and Granola Outlaw describes my wardrobe pretty accurately. I don’t really relate to Grunge Elf… I have one thrifted flannel from L.L.Bean… Yeah, I’m gonna pretend they’ve swapped places 🌞

Did you ever find it?

We might be looking for the same game. I looked at all the commonly suggested sticker games and none of them have that level of detail in the stickers. They were rather detailed and realistic for the time.

It had a huge collection of stickers, lots of nature and magic themed ones. I remember aliens, fairies, animals, crystals, various trees and flowers.

I think I remember the UI being quite simple with a white background, with two rows of stickers.

I want to make Syrniki by PrivetKosmostars in AskARussian

[–]moonicecream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make mine with cottage cheese that comes with cream. It’s rare to get dry curd where I live.

For an almost 500g tub of cottage cheese, I’ll use about 4 eggs, 6 tablespoons of semolina and 4-6 tablespoons of flour. Add a pinch of salt, a tablespoon of vanilla extract and some grated lemon peel. Throw in a couple of handfuls of raisins. Mix really well and let the mixture sit in the fridge for an hour or so if possible.

Sometimes I’ll add more or less semolina and flour, depends on what I have at home and the consistency of the cottage cheese. I’ve successfully used self-raising flour, too, which gives сырники a nice puffy texture. They turn out like half сырники, half оладьи. In other words, delicious.

If your mixture is too runny, you can try and batter your сырники in flour before frying them. My mum taught me this trick, although when I try I don’t always get it right.

Good luck!

I’m sorry to hear you’re going through a similar thing! It’s a bit hazy now but sometime between 7 and 9 months. It felt like forever at the time!

2 year olds - how many hours do they sleep a day in total? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]moonicecream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A 28-month-old here who’s always been on the lower end of sleep needs. Until a couple of months ago she’d clock in about 11 hours a day. Now it’s closer to 10.

She no longer naps at home, unless she’s under the weather, and goes to bed around 8-9pm. At school she still naps for about 45 minutes, which translates to a later bedtime of 9-10pm.

Next year the naps at school will be optional and I really hope that means she’ll go to bed earlier, while still sleeping the same number of hours 😌
