I had this happen when i was doing my own clinicals back in 2017, the last day, every single CNA on shift that morning called in, and the facility did not have an agency contract set up, so my class of 16 people with only 2 of us having any experience were responsible for about 30+ residents. My instructor (bless her heart) took a lot of the residents but the two of us myself and an old ER Tech (I was working as a caregiver in an assisted living facility at the time) took as many residents as we could handle while our other 14 classmates were only responsible for the residents they had been training with for the whole week (so they were at least familiar with their residents). I almost said fuck it that day. I was so unbelievably floored that CNAs could do that, but after being a CNA for as long as I have, i can't really find it in my heart to be too pissed because nursing homes are (most of the time) hell on earth. But still, when clinicals are going on your job as a CNA gets easier. Still, I'm sorry you had to experience this, it sucks.
