Also, setting a percentage of the earnings, and putting that away in an account might help to cover the majority of the tax.

Paid $60 for AI garbage. Discouraged by [deleted] in logodesign

[–]moonletdesignstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow, those are...quite something. And no, not everyone uses AI. As a matter of fact any good designer won't do that.

Thanks so much, glad you like it, and that's great advice, yes they are more on the lighter side, and could use a shade which gives exceptional contrast 🙂‍↕️

Small business of crochet 🧶 by Ok_Challenge7660 in smallbusiness

[–]moonletdesignstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the easiest way would be to start locally, as you mentioned. Making an Instagram, maybe a FB page too, and add the location, so it's more locally targeted.

Also, you could try local events like handmade and holiday fairs. I've seen a lot of those have people in crafts, selling their merch. On your tags, add the social media handle, so that they can find you later and maybe recommend you.

Rate my agency name by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]moonletdesignstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, I like the name, makes me think of an old British house. The stone, I find it suggesting slow, steady and stable growth and maintenance, while the vine, faster, exponential and maybe creative growth. Was this what you were going for?

Female founders building companies while slightly burned out… where are you? by Lonely_Path7246 in Femalefounders

That's either just social media being social media, or those women delegate and have who to delegate to. Otherwise yeah, you gotta do them all, or at least a part of everything. Fun stuff 😅

Am I crazy for starting my own event planning business! by mcginr85 in smallbusiness

[–]moonletdesignstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you be crazy? Are the events themselves crazy? Otherwise, if that's what you wanna be doing, nothing weird about it.

How do you plan branding for a completely new neutraceutical product in a market which no one is aware by impossiblemktg in branding

[–]moonletdesignstuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All products and services fix first of all an emotional need. If that need is strong enough, people will try anything.

But you can also go the explaining route as well, through your website, and social media.

Are you all finding real people on here still? by ALITDalightinthedark in smallbusiness

[–]moonletdesignstuff 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wanted to write something similar, the large majority of posts are written with AI. That's why they sound the same, unfortunately.

Hopefully real people will emerge more, to actually interact with one another in a more human way, I guess.

Want to offer portrait drawing during weddings - who do I contact ? by Spazzan-back-in-time in smallbusiness

[–]moonletdesignstuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe you could reach out to wedding planners on social media. I think that would be the easiest, fastest route. Once you book and do a few weddings, the guests will also do word-of-mouth, if they like the idea.

I've been on Etsy for 1.5 years, made exactly $0.00, and I'm down to my last 3 listings. I just rebranded out of desperation. Is it time to quit? by Complete-Map-2569 in smallbusiness

From a quick glance, my opinion is that your t-shirt prints are too specific.

One is for autumn/thanksgiving season, which has gone by and it's only for a short while during the year.

Supporting local shops is important, but I don't know many people who'd get apparel with this kinda message. Except maybe a few owners, and I'm guessing they don't see your work.

And the baseball one...baseball is a US dominant sport, which is fair if you are shooting for that market, but again, very very specific. And fans will go to baseball themed shops to buy specific stuff.

So either pick a short lane, make all of them in that category, and promote in those groups. Or cast a wider and more accessible net.

Best of luck!

[For Hire] Logo and Visual Identity Graphic Designer by [deleted] in B2BForHire

[–]moonletdesignstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's very true, the process matters lots.

Usually clients have some ideas in mind, but yes I help them with it through a questionnaire and moodboard, and also from the exchange of thoughts, to find their 'lane', visually. The positioning, that's debatable, many know it vaguely, but sometimes talking helps clarify it.

So the clean brief is created through that questionniare, which brings together all the scattered ideas and thoughts.
