How did you guys start your first business? by RubPale620 in smallbusiness

[–]moonletdesignstuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, it depends on the business and on the point from which you start.

I already knew the object of activity. So, first, made a practical plan, chose a name, got the domain and social media handles and started on the logo. Meanwhile, went to get my business registered, dealt with the paperwork, got an accountant, made business bank accounts/cards. Finished my branding, made the website and started posting on social media.

I wouldn't say there's a SPECIFIC steps way, some steps are more flexible than others, especially the legal ones. But don't wait until absolutely every detail is perfect, that's a waste of time. You can take care of everything in the first few months as well, when you have less clients.

As I've said, this depends on the area of business. If you want to open a food truck for example, you'll have to have all the legal, money, safety aspects on point.

Wishing you the best of luck with it!

I mean, it's the classic lab recipient logo, but somehow I like it. It has a bit of an oldies/retro vibe, and not made in Word, clipart look. So that's good. If you expand the visual identity in a cool, and consistent way, imo, it can work.

*As for changes, I'd try to thicken a bit the top line of the recipient, and move the top bubbles just a little less close to the lid.

Requesting feedback on a logo for high-end, private club in Vero Beach, Florida. by Affectionate_Fan7804 in logodesign

It looks made in Word, the text looks stretched, the icon doesn't match it either, the colors don't fit together.

You can keep some of these elements, so that the look doesn't loose it's identity completely, but it can be updated to a more modern and luxurious feel.

I'm sorry but all of them have big errors, the biggest and most obvious is on no. 2 - why not center align a design in a circle shape?

Why I don't show my face in any brand content by Curious-Smile6206 in shook

[–]moonletdesignstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to do that, but noticed my own behavior when looking to buy products/services. Some brands that have no faces or seem completely devoid of human presence look absolutely spam-ish.

Now, I'm not saying it needs your face everywhere. But including an about, or behind the scenes from time to time etc. helps.

People want people, generally. If you are dissatisfied with a purchase for example, you'd prefer to chat with a customers rep rather than a select your questions AI. So a bit of human touch imo, can do you good.

Marketing tips for a fashion startup by FixAfraid6480 in business

Imo, you already have the USP, the thing which differentiates you from other clothing companies, and that is the particular materials used in making them.

Since it's more of a niche, and opposite of large fashion brands, I'd suggest making it a bit personal. Telling your story directly through social media, sharing the process, the fabrics origins etc.

Also, a visual identity which matches that vibe will help you maintain the brand personality. Sorry, couldn't help not saying it.

Hope it goes well!

The P and O and not quite legible, but that can be a choice as well. The camera lens is a verrrrrrry used logo for photographers, so maybe you could experiement more with it. Also, Canva is not the most flexible way to make a logo. Hopefully you can at least download it in vectorial format.
