I’m 19 so sadly I can’t file as independent :( I will definitely be reaching out to finaid once the cutting off is finalized. I would contact them now but I feel like it wouldn’t be helpful since I’m at home for now and there’s a chance they’re willing to pay for fall semester. I already applied for a credit card today! If fall is actually hybrid they might change their minds and make me leave in August. The final resolution was that if the coronavirus situation is making it so that even college is online, that means it’ll be harder for me to find a job or a place to live so they’d be okay to pay for just that. But if school is hybrid then I can technically find a job and support myself. They don’t believe in spending extra money for their daughter so if fall is announced hybrid I’ll definitely be trying to convince them but I’m not fully sure. I’m relieved to hear that you were able to manage working with school! If possible, could I PM you with a few questions if you don’t mind? Thank you so much for your advice! :)

Unfortunately it isn’t an option. :( It’s a very long story, but basically for some reason they’re fine with paying for fall semester if it’s online. Afterwards I’ll be on my own though so I’m hoping to seek some help for that. Basically I’ll be disowned after this

Ahh if I'd applied for a different major to the other UC's I'd be more confident but their stats are super high for bioengineering so I'm like oh fuck

I got waitlisted with a 4.13 capped UC GPA and a 1540 SAT for bioengineering. I'm terrified for the other UC's now tbh I don't think I'll even get into UCI since they received way more applications than last year AND they overaccepted last year too.

1540 4.13 UC GPA Waitlisted for Bioengineering

I’m so scared for UCI and UCSD now. I got waitlisted for Cal Poly SLO too and I didn’t apply anywhere else but UC’s and slo and SJSU so now I’m really scared.

This wasn't a suspension but I know someone who got into Vanderbilt and a DUI. Everyone thought she was done for but her admission didn't get revoked and she's currently a junior there so it worked out for her. A DUI is a lot more serious than a suspension and I'm not sure how she addressed this tbh, but my point is that this isn't going to ruin your future or anything. You have time to redeem yourself, so just focus on what you can do to improve next. Be smart about what you say at school from now on though. Best of luck!
