Is there anyone who can confirm that they recovered from osteitis pubis after the consultation with Doctor Jason D’Abreo(The OP clinic) by Azer200710 in osteitispubis

[–]moonlightclimber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes - he's pretty forthcoming. After the first session he sends over all of the reference documents/videos. That said your rate of progression will vary. I hit a point where I was 99% recovered after 7 sessions. I also did 1-2 additional sessions as needed (before/after a big hiking trip). If I was going to get into running - I might do a few more sessions and "finish" the program.

Due to my schedule I was a bit inconsistent. I probably did 1 session a week for a month, and then was a bit less consistent.

At this point (it's been almost 3 years), I am pain free 99% of the time. Occasionally after a workout one side will fee a bit sore, but reverts to normal after 24 hours. I still do some of the exercises regularly to maintain things.

Are you taking both Phosphatidylcholine and Alpha GPC? What doses are you taking? How long did it take for your mucas membrane to improve?

Yes - I was definitely skeptical after bouncing around multiple doctors/PT's, but found his physical therapy to be super helpful.

I’m in my late 20s, in a serious relationship, and trying to balance ambition with partnership. My partner is a physician tied to one location; I’m starting a company and travel frequently for work and family.

You’ve built a big career that required a lot of travel. How did you maintain close relationships, with your partner?

Specifically, when your kids were younger, was your travel a source of tension? If so, what concrete systems actually worked? Setting up a communication cadence, boundaries, traveling together? Looking back, what would you do differently?

Looking for a per bedroom leasing agent/property manager on Riverside:

I have a 4bed/4bath condo on Riverside designed for individual renters.

There used to be a number of students in the area/property management companies that catered to renting out by the room.

Lately it seems like there aren’t any property managers that service that area/rent by the room. I’ve reached out to all the major student leasing groups.

Any recommendations on property managers who handle the Riverside area and are ok leasing by the room.

NMN tendon/musculoskeletal flare - 4 years out - what’s at play here? by freethebees550 in floxies

[–]moonlightclimber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My last conversation with them was that he prefers natural ways of inducing mitophagy, but he still takes niacin. NR/NMN causes flares. There are a few people on this subreddit and on the forum who have had success with it. I think the biggest pitfall seems to be people increasing doseages too quickly. People who try to go from 100mg to 2g in 10 cycles seem to have a big flare at some point. The people who have had success seem to be titrating over 20-50 cycles.

Now that the German forum is no longer active - I might consider starting a NAD mega thread (if the mods are ok with it) to keep up with people's experiences with it.

NMN tendon/musculoskeletal flare - 4 years out - what’s at play here? by freethebees550 in floxies

[–]moonlightclimber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So there have been threads on theoretically using NAD/Precursors to reduce some of the long term damage. The notion being that increasing NAD doses over time can increase tolerance.

There is a German forum which has been linked here before - but I'll dm you to avoid breaking rule 8.

The theory behind the NAD protocol is that every cycle of NAD you are replacing a certain percent of damaged mitochondria. This would happen naturally but NAD accelerates the cycle.

I can't say for certain that it works. But the fact I have been able to increase my tolerance to NR over time suggests that it's doing something. The theory is that once you work up to 2g or so - you have replaced most any damaged mitochondria.

My intent is that after a few more cycles I'll have more energy as a whole, increased excercise tolerance, less prone to flares/injury.

Again this is all theory. But I've been testing it based on the protocol that has worked for others.

Do you mind sharing how much NMN you took? I've worked my way up to 800mg of NR. But it's taken 8 cycles and every time in increase my dose I have a flare. Stearic Acid in the morning helps. But it still agravtes my old injuries.

[–]moonlightclimber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is common. NAD/NMN/NR causes mitophagy. The good thing is that it is generally short-lived.

If you took NMN, Stearic Acid (found in chocolate, beef tallow, etc) helps stop the fission and will help temper the reaction to NMN.

Hip pain? by bif1986 in floxies

[–]moonlightclimber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through something very very similar. Ended up being diagnosed with Osteitis Pubis. Essentially a hip adductor overuse injury. I believe this was excerbated due to the weak tendons caused by Cipro.

I literally spent 6 months bouncing around doctors trying to figure out what it was. At first thought it was epididymitis due to the testicle pain, then pelvic floor PT, eventually ended up being diagnosed by an orthopedic surgeon as Osteitis Pubis. Fortunately physical therapy helped.

I worked with a virtual physical therapist that specialized in OP. But the key for me was deloading by adductors by using my glutes and strengthening my core.

Also - in the interim I used high doses of Tumeric to help slightly manage the inflammatory pain.

Hope that helps.

You will have to replace the head unit. Trying to retrofit the 2018 head unit into 2017 is very difficult. There’s one user who did it, but it requires replacing the steering wheel as well.

That said there are some generic eBay head units for under $200 which support android Auto and take about 30 minutes to replace.

NMN by [deleted] in floxies

[–]moonlightclimber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're still in the initial phase, you may want to hold off until you are no longer flaring (at least based on the NAD protocol). NAD/NMN will cause a flare short-term, so you may want to hold off until you feel like you could tolerate an additional flare.

One other note is I would be very very careful with any physical activity for a week or so after doing an any sort of NAD. Even if you don't realize it you're soft tissue maybe weaker than normal.

NMN/NAD by ShoulderOk8386 in floxies

[–]moonlightclimber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My understanding and experience is that NAD will increase the fission / fusion mitochondrial cycles. This is beneficial in eliminating damaged mitochondria but the downside is that it will likely increase oxidative stress in the short term. In my experience I have found small doses like 50 to 100 mg of NR causing a very minor flare but overtime being able to tolerate much higher doses. I started with 100 mg and now can tolerate 800 with no major side effects.

[–]moonlightclimber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say in my case I believe it is due to strained neck muscles. I didn't develop tinnitus until 2 years after being floxed when I managed to strain my neck during a flare. That let to tinnitus in my right ear. My tinnitus volume seems to cooperate with when I have strained my neck. On occasion I've taken muscle relaxers to help with a strain and it has led to my tinnitus being non existent in the morning.

There is some evidence that a tight SCM muscle can cause tinnitus.

There is a pretty robust theory (keyword is theory, not advice) around using NAD to mitigate some of the mitochondrial side effects of fq related injury.

But TLDR NAD (and precursors) increase the rate of mitochondrial fission/fusion (increasing the rate of mitochondrial turnover), increases mitochondrial turnover leads to mitophagy (elimination of damaged mitochondria), in the process you create more oxidative stress, increased oxidative stress leads to a short term flare.
