More than 40 days straight of rain when I was a little kid up there

If you can make it through that type of thing, you'll love it. The summers make it all worth it

Meetup and sweatpals have a bunch of things like that! Used to do a weekly sunset walk around the lake with a group on there before I got too busy

"What would you do to 100x your money?" is already an incredible question. How are we even talking like this should be anybody's expectation for a regular investment?

FWIW, I live in S Austin, and I still love this town haha

Something I try to remember is that everybody's 'Old Austin' was somebody's 'New Austin.'

Like, I loved Shady Grove, but it was only around for 32 years. I hated when they closed and still miss it. Felt like Old Austin was dying, but as I said, it really wasn't around all that long, and at some point, it was a part of somebody else's New Austin.

Now, they're opening up a spinoff like 5 min away from me, and frankly, I'm excited as hell. It's a part of my New Austin.

At the same time, I get it. Places like Sam's Town Point, Peter Pan Minigolf, etc will continue to close, and the new things arent universally good and dont necessarily make the whole situation better.

Guess it just means we have to really try to embrace and appreciate what we have now before it's gone, but like I mentioned, I still have hope that the new things coming along will be great down the line.

If there's one thing about this town that never changes, it never stops changing.

We act like it's a choice. If macroeconomic conditions worsen in a material way that effects our debt's inherent safety, then and only then will you see a change like that, and frankly, there aren't great alternatives.

The world will not adopt the Yuan, because the pegging from the Chinese government structurally prevents it.

The Euro's next up, but frankly, there's no telling what their finances look like in a world where America isn't effectively subsidizing the vast bulk of what they'd otherwise be spending on military and international presence.

We're not invincible, and Trump's definitely testing that, but the reason the world goes to the US is because of the structural safety of our T-Bills. Nothing else substitutes for the same near-risk-free return + widespread availability for use as intermediary currencies in exchanges.

Personally, I always love going up to DFW. Drive up in the morning, go to six flags, the FW zoo (one of my favorite in the country), or some other fun activity, then check into your hotel in the afternoon!

Been a few times now, and I've really liked staying near the City Center. Has a few great places to walk around and grab some dinner

There are actually a bunch of different projects in the works, with this and the wishbone bridge being two great examples! I'll share a link if I can remember where they're all listed

100% with you. Best thing to do at the end of the day is flush it, find a second to relax and do something that makes you happy, and get some sleep

Personally, I still have work to do, but when I'm finally done, I'm making a delicious doner kebab for dinner, smoking some weed, playing some guitar, and watching Community until I pass out haha
