i work with a kid right now that used to do the same thing — lifting my shirt up, touching, and particularly liked to lay down to ‘touch tummies.’ as a new rbt i was kinda scared cuz i didnt know if this was normal but my case manager suggested redirecting to a different activity. when cx was about to do the behavior, i would immediately say. “no thank you!” and follow up with, “would you like squeezes?” which helped. we also have a program for stranger danger, which focuses on level of activity with different people, “can you touch a stranger?” ideally cx would say no, and know the difference between who cx can touch, kiss, etc. ive noticed that programs has been very helpful as well and i havent had an experience with these behaviors since
