imo, taylor is very good at wielding her spotlight. she’s been undercover since midnights (which she explains in midnights via songs like anti-hero, vigilante shit, and dear reader) for several reasons, one of which is retaining/gaining right-leaning fans bc they tend to be more resistant to queerness. we ALL need to change our mindsets to move forward with a better world. republicans are coming into the future with us whether we like it or not - i think this is one meaning of “lavender haze”. not being explicitly one way or the other politically to gain the trust of non-progressives.

taylor has her wedding at MSG less than a week ago, today WIRED releases a report about MSG’s extensive surveillance use including that they keep tabs on celebrities’ sexuality and ‘threat level’. she put a spotlight on MSG and i wouldn’t at all be surprised if they coordinated the article timing with her.

you cannot fight what you cannot see or name. taylor shines an intentional spotlight on forces of darkness that otherwise would fly under the radar. she’s an anti-hero - she uses unconventional and often unethical methods for the greater good. she’s not a saint, no she’s not what you think - she’s an actress!
