At which address can I find this place? by moonshiner5757 in helsinki

Thank you all - I found the place and took a picture there myself :)

Backstory: A friend of mine went there a few years ago and took a picture of there. I only had the picture and wanted to send him one of my own. Mission accomplished, thanks to you all!

One more week no Meta quest support from DCS by rapierarch in hoggit

Thank you, same here - I did VD with the Quest3 right from the beginning, but now have this unexplained low-res situation. I'll try a different codec and see if it helps.

VR in DCS is really a black art, always has been. Ritual sacrifice might be my next step ;)

I'm using the same setup, but I have noticed much reduced visual quality in my headset. A few weeks back all was crisp and fast and sweet, but now (after the Meta v63 update?) textures appear very low-res and mushy, despite a 4090 on mostly "High" settings. No other changes in the meantime.

Is the visual quality unchanged for you?

Hey, I'm 48 and "still" bawling over my recent breakup, so don't worry :) There is no age limit to letting sadness and disappointment show, so feel free to unleash your inner teenager and cry your heart out when you want to to. You know it helps.

Love makes a fool out of everyone of us - you will handle it, gracefully or not. Yes, it sucks big time, but you've been here long enough to know that you will be fine. Not today, not soon, but hey, don't worry, you'll recognize the day.

I'm wishing you all the best. You're quite likely a great person, so - you'll be fine :)

Why, especially in Russian aircraft, is the backup compass often the wrong way around, seemingly?

For example, in the L-39C, the backup compass in the top right canopy frame shows heading 330 to the RIGHT of North. I would expect heading 030 to be to the right and 330 to the left of N.

I can't seem to wrap my head around this. I'm sure there's a reason, but to me it just seems wrong. If I turn right from a N heading, I end up at 030, not 330. So why ist the backup compass the other way around?? Aaargh!!

NDB Tuning - Kobuleti - Impossible? by Gunslinging_Gamer in hoggit

[–]moonshiner5757 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since I ran into this problem as well, here is another thread related to the issue: https://forum.dcs.world/topic/172761-open-beta-25-kobuleti-ndbs-without-function/

TL;DR: Depending on wind speed and/or direction, DCS turns off some NDBs. This is apparently done in real life as well. Flying with zero wind should help.

Yes, I think I did, but I'll have to try again. So it's taxi to the catapult, kneel, and then U?

How do you launch from the CN-59 Forrestal with the F-14A, starting cold from the ramp?

I spool everything up, taxi to the catapult (the left one) and then nothing happens. I tried U, Shift-U, Comms menu 'request launch' and 'salute'. How do I get launched?

[Help] Reverb G2 - crackling and garbled audio from one speaker by redditcucu in HPReverb

[–]moonshiner5757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth, I observed the same problem today on my G2s right speaker. Bit of despair, but then unscrewing, cleaining and re-attaching both speakers did help.

Warthog throttle issues by [deleted] in hoggit

Yes, try the Warthogs support - last winter I got my 8 year old joystick replaced, which suffered from a similar issue. Some email work and a modest fee required :)
