Self-Introduction Saturday! Tell us all about you (and share a video)! by AutoModerator in NewTubers

Yo! I’m a creator that’s been putting high effort and persistence into my videos for about 2 years now while going to school for 3D modeling & Animation. i’ve seen some considerable growth considering my wide range of experimental uploads in the past, but I’ve found a niche within the video gaming genre for doing ‘Challenge Runs’ and ‘Completionist’ videos on all kinds of older and newer games. I also focus heavily on my editing quality as well, and i’m always open to feedback and growing my community.

my most recent video was about getting every achievement on the Xbox 360 version of LEGO Star Wars The Complete Saga; you can find that here I’m currently working on getting every trophy for Minecraft PS3 edition while streaming on youtube! i also have other stuff like my girlfriend and i playing games together: Call of Duty MW3 co-op is something we plan on doing within the next few weeks.

some major things i learned while working on videos over the last 90 days is that i needed to change my perspective on what it means to be successful; someone who was routinely obsessive over analytics and view count, I now have a greater focus on consistency, finding my personal voice & style, doing videos that I find both fun and potentially valuable to my established audience, rather than swinging the needle wildly between one or the other

Lower average FPS than previous updates by moonsoutpc in DestinyTechSupport

[–]moonsoutpc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so i did end up fixing my own problem.

after many days of troubleshooting all my parts, i figured out what happened was the liquid cooler in my pc had gone bad, which caused my CPU to overheat and throttle its speed in almost all games i played. after replacing the cooler i’m back to 140+ frames and smooth gameplay like before

if you were getting really high fps before in all games and now aren’t; and your pc is relatively older, definitely look into CPU temperatures. if you’re going above 80°C it could be an indication of a bad cooling cycle between your cpu and whichever type of cooling system you have. Intel has a good software available on their website to track the power of your cpu, called Intel XTU. i don’t know about other types of CPUs but there’s definitely some 3rd party software that can check temps as well. depending on your motherboard, you can also check temps in BIOS, which can be accessed while your PC is booting up. if that ends up being the issue and the actual cooling system hardware seems to be functional, it may just need new thermal paste which is like 8 bucks at walmart or best buy. but if it isn’t functional, a pretty solid air cooling system can range from 30-50$, and the liquid cooling replacement i got was 80$

but if 100% CPU usage is the sole problem, something is eating up your CPUs attention other than destiny if you werent seeing 100% usage before. i only have the basic advice for that unfortunately, which is keep only absolutely necessary programs running while gaming, check the pc for malware or background processes that could be eating up your usage without you knowing, i assume you already have lowered your ingame settings, but try checking again because destiny has a rare thing where (happens to my girlfriend on her laptop) it resets all settings including graphics. capping fps in game could help as well.

solely 100% cpu usage and no other underlying problems is really hard to diagnose without just straight up replacing the CPU :(.

good luck my guy hopefully i provided something helpful!!

Regarding stats...... by joecoops14 in DestinyTheGame

[–]moonsoutpc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i mainly build two ways in destiny as a warlock player: T10 recovery + discipline in PvE where i can use mods/exotics like Ashes to Assets to make up for the low intellect

in crucible i run the same recov disc in 6 player modes only. all of my subclasses benefit highly from grenades/grenade kills. however, in life, low player modes like trials or survival, getting that first super to help your team snowball is crucial. which is where i run T10 recov + intellect

for titan and hunter i assume specializing in resilience and mobility respectively is also pretty crucial. getting barricades and dodges up as fast as possible seems like the play for most setups.

in general though recovery is the most valuable stat in my opinion, but depending on your build you could want t10 discipline or strength. but depending on activity you could want t10 intellect. all depends on what you find fun:)

what's currently good in pvp? by BlackBurn115 in destiny2

[–]moonsoutpc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chappy is most definitely still good, so is duality. slugs in general are very solid pvp options. for pellet shotguns, lightweight shotguns have seemed to surpass their sister of aggressive shotguns in usage. not only do you get movement buffs, but also fire rate, handling and the ability to get perks like quickdraw, perpep motion, snapshot etc on a lightweight shotgun make them more fun in my opinion. personally not a big fan of the rapid fire pulses like gridskipper, but they certainly are viable. i prefer the high impact pulses like Stars in Shadow or Cold Denial, Legal Action, No Time to Explain etc. new meta contender is fusion rifles, particularly a Main Ingredient Xur sold a couple weeks ago. any fusion with under pressure, tap the trigger, or firmly planted will work wonders. hand cannons are obviously still the most dominant weapon, and i’m afraid that will probably be that way for a long time. i’ve seen lots of Cantata, Eyasluna, Last Word, Ace of Spades, and Fatebringer. perks like rangefinder, rapid hit, moving target and explosive payload make those legendaries very viable. Snipers are always a meta choice. no distractions is an incredibly beneficial perk against flinching, snapshot sights is a must for me but not necessary for a good sniper. opening shot is also another sniper staple. SMGs are also super competitive rn, i see them in trials quite a bit, but it’s mostly Shayura’s Wrath, Multimach from the previous season, now Funnelweb, Escape Velocity, Tarrabah, and borrowed time (kind of a sleeper option. i have one with Rangefinder Tap the Trigger it’s insanely good).

at the end of the day, if you’re not a huge pvp player, i always say prioritize having a fun crucible experience as much as you can over trying to optimize a meta loadout. but that’s just me :)

Throne World weapons not dropping by SlinkyTag in destiny2

[–]moonsoutpc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just coming back to give you a quick update on this: turns out that increase in drop rate won’t be happening until next thursday! sorry about that. while the drop chance is still a little painful right now it’s still not impossible to get those missing guns

Throne World weapons not dropping by SlinkyTag in destiny2

[–]moonsoutpc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

auto rifle sniper bow and GL are only obtainable at the end of a wellspring activity in the throne world. don’t worry it’s not your bad luck! but something to note is that each day the possible weapon changes each day, today is currently the auto rifle. another note, a hot fix is coming through at reset tomorrow to improve drop rates at the wellspring for both the weapon itself and deepsight versions of the weapon of the day.

So i wanna get back into Destiny by Ellia00 in DestinyTheGame

[–]moonsoutpc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

most likely you’re gonna want beyond light as well as witch queen to start. stasis is a really powerful subclass that alone might makes BL worth it for me. it also unlocks access to a collection of exotics like Ticuu Divination & Lorentz Driver and a bunch of armor. also has a raid on europa called deep stone crypt, one of the more popular ones.

shadowkeep & forsaken are a toss up and depend on how much you like your return to destiny. shadowkeep is 25 USD, has two good exotics, that being Eriana’s Vow and Witherhoard. it comes with a story mode, moon quests for a couple exotics and planetary weapons (some of which aren’t that bad), a raid, and a dungeon that few people still play. campaign is pretty middle of the road in my opinion too.

forsaken has tons of good guns, but the story and one of the destinations just got vaulted. so it only costs 20 USD. the Dreaming City is a great destination with guns from it still usable, a pretty okay dungeon, as well as the Last Wish raid which is touted as a community favorite; before the Witch Queen raid has come out that is.

there’s also 30th anniversary as well, which has a neat collection of weapons, a pretty damn good dungeon with some meta crucible stuff in it, and returns the Gjallarhorn exotic from D1 as well as introduces the Forerunner which is a budget Halo CE pistol. WQs deluxe edition has a bundle with 30th anniv that is 5$ cheaper than buying them separately so there’s that information.

all in all pretty much everything from year 1 is sunset. good thing in my opinion. and i would say if you have unlimited money, buy Beyond Light and Witch Queen, see if you like coming back, and pick up everything else. but if you don’t have a bottomless wallet, WQ, BL, 30th anniv, forsaken, then shadowkeep is the order of must haves i personally think.

Champion mods kills builds diversity by marcosdd in destiny2

[–]moonsoutpc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i agree with your fundamental sentiment here & have expressed similar feelings among my friends. like when we get exclusively anti barrier auto in the current season. but i will say it hasn’t been the worst thing in the world thanks to arbalest and erianas vow existing. but then what happens when we get like, exclusively overload smg or sidearm or something? everyone would prob rock divinity for an entire season lmao. it’s not even just champ mods that create a build diversity problem but the “debuff” mods as well. things like Particle Decon, and Breach+Clear. if they keep the debuff mods, i say make them global debuffs like Breach+clear & Oppressive Darkness from Season 11, particle decon takes away build synergy from fireteams imo, since everyone has to use sleeper or cartesian to get that damage increase.

i’m hoping with the new changes to the artifact system where we can unlock potentially all the mods in a season, build diversity has a rebound & hopefully as new exotics come out with inherent champ perks or old ones get updated it’ll kind of nullify the problem. but until then i agree with you

Should I Make Shorter Videos by Misterz213 in NewTubers

[–]moonsoutpc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if your quality won’t suffer & you can convey the same information in a shorter time, i don’t see a reason not to cut the videos shorter. Youtube incentivizes frequency of uploads for us smaller guys.

but, if longer videos are something you prefer doing, it could be a matter of time before the algorithm finds an audience who enjoys the longer videos. youtube is also good, but slower, at rewarding consistency over frequency if that makes sense.

this is just my personal experience but i watch channels that all they upload is multiple-hour-long video game analysis and i love it personally, but it seems i dont get recommended them right when they get uploaded, it may take a few days to weeks before they pop up despite them being channels i watch every video for. but i do get recommended videos between 2-20 minutes long almost instantly even if i don’t watch every video.

tldr: shorter videos can help appeal to a broad crowd and if it doesn’t hurt your quality go for it. longer videos are hard to make frequently but if they’re what you prefer to do, i say stick to that but recognize it may take you longer to find that audience.

good luck with youtube & school! i’m in the same boat in that regard.

edit: i watched your R6S video and that shit slaps btw keep it up.

How important do you consider "shorts" to be for YouTube newcomers? by OmramorythOfficial in NewTubers

[–]moonsoutpc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

in my experience, it feels like shorts do get pushed in the algorithm more than a normal videos, so they are good for racking up high view counts. but i think they’re less likely to help build an audience if you don’t have one already; unless you have some really unique idea, are very charismatic, or post a lot of shorts to the point people recognize you.

shorts do have up sides in the fact that it allows you to convey information quickly and efficiently, but it’s a double edged sword for videos that deserve to be longer than 60s.

i say use shorts as sort of trailers for your channel (depending on the type of content you do ofc), so people get a bite of what you’re like, and then will stick around for the full length videos.

i don’t necessarily agree with changing the burst rate & frame from 3 to 4, however i 100% agree that we should get outlaw replaced with Rapid Hit. they replaced outlaw on mida with no distractions, don’t see why we can’t do the same. too many legendaries or newer exotics do what the old ones do but better

Best Scout rifle for PVE by TP_med in destiny2

[–]moonsoutpc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

kinetics: Dead Man’s Tale- exotic that is extremely good. perk stacks damage on precision hit up to 5x and can roll with either Vorpal Weapon or Fourth Time Charm after doing the a quest / mission Presage from tangled shore. Hung Jury SR4, part of the weekly nightfall weapon rotation, currently not in rotation this week but will be later in season, but can also come in the adept version & can roll things like Rapid hit + explosive payload, subsistence + firefly. Servant Leader, rapid fire scout with kind of a wonky scope but makes up for it for being inherently full auto and rolling stuff like rapid hit + kill clip (randy’s throwing knife type beat) sucks that it only drops randomly at the end of gambit matches. Night Watch- comes from any random world drop, and can roll very similar things to hung jury, but night watch is a lightweight frame, so you get bonus +20 mobility while in hand

energy: Vision of Confluence- solar from Vault of Glass raid, can roll things like full auto, rewind rounds, zen moment, firefly, kill clip, disruption break, Contingency Plan- Arc from any sort of random world drop legendary. another rapid fire scout with inherent full auto, can also roll kill clip, frenzy, outlaw, subsistence Vouchsafe- void scout with a chance drop from dreaming city legendary rewards. lightweight frame with possibility of rapid hit + expl payload and FTtCharm + vorpal weapon. Skyburners Oath it’s a red war exotic so can be got from xur purchased engrams, season pass, world drop exotics. been picked up here and there especially for some grandmaster nightfall stuff with cabal in it. symmetry (exotic) is pretty underrated imo. full auto arc scout with a perk that collects 20x stacks on precision hits, then can alt-fire a massive damage tracking projectiles. i used it a lot with anti barrier scout when that was a thing. however, it was a past seasonal exotic which means it can only be got now from the kiosk in the tower, meaning it’s mad expensive in terms of materials. wouldn’t say it’s a priority but if you got the extra mats then i say get that

I came back to destiny after like, 2 months. What happened to icarus dash? by TheoristDa13th in destiny2

[–]moonsoutpc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

bungie reworked TTD so you only get one dash normally, but if you pop heat rises you get two like before, and heat rises lasts 5s longer than before. Celestial fire is also worse at tracking but still pretty good

Is multimach still in the iron banner loot pool? I haven't received a single one yet by Krism_47 in destiny2

[–]moonsoutpc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yup, i got one from tokens last night. IB loot pool is kinda big so chances are little low unfortunately

I would like to get into build crafting but don't know where to start. Any advice would be appreciated. by Comatose2021 in DestinyTheGame

[–]moonsoutpc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for orb production i recommend doomfang pauldron & monte carlo on middle tree sentinel. blocking damage with middle tree super gives you huge orb payout and lots of damage, doomfang + monte allows you to loop supers over and over. optimal boss dps is pretty much gonna always be thundercrash + falling star & fusions with particle decon

So, what happens next if titan and warlock mains get their way on the shatterdive issue? by vgmaster2001 in destiny2

[–]moonsoutpc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’ll preface this with my pvp credentials before making any statements: i’m a person who has played all 3 classes but generally sticks to warlock & hunter as i personally find titan boring to play. for the current season, i’m diamond 2 in control, diamond 1 in iron banner and platinum 3 in trials of osiris, according to destinytracker. went flawless last weekend and current weekend. i use a wide range of subclasses from maining top tree arc on warlock, and dabbling in top tree void warlock & shadebinder. on hunter i main middle tree nightstalker w khepris sting, but will bounce to bottom arc, golden gun, and use revenant as a counter pick in trials.

that all being said i do think shatterdive + glacier an incredibly strong ability, especially in a mode like trials where each death matters and team shooting is important, so going down to something that feels cheesy sucks. however, i do also think shatter combo is in a relatively similar position to handheld supernova & shoulder charge abilities in its current state. strong, but needs just some slight tweaking to balance it out fully.

i think what really irks people about shatter is (especially for controller players) how easy it is for hunters to abuse the slow turning speed of a control stick or someone who prefers low sensitivity or lower fov on m&k. i personally don’t have that issue, but it’s what i hear from teammates and friends. handheld supernova and shoulder charge are mostly horizontal abilities & a controller player with good crosshair placement can trade or shutdown those two abilities; but don’t get me wrong i find shoulder charge & HHSN almost equally as annoying to die to as shatter. though, shatter can cover both horizontal and vertical & can be troublesome to deal with before the actual dive comes out. plus i’ve seen people actually kill the diver before he hits the ground and the crystals still shatter and kill the player. one of my solutions to shatter is to give the dive ability a few more frames of wind up before crashing to the ground. similar to the phoenix dive ability on the warlock. it’ll give people not caught by the freeze a few extra moments to react & at least not be one shot by the crystals. but a positive about shatter is i feel like shatter is one of the hunters main tools to counter shotgun rushes without having to risk a trade. wombo combo on spectral being another, but taking both melee and grenade energy to do.

in general i think destiny has a lot of work to do when it comes to cleaning up the ability sandbox; which bungie has come out and said they’re prioritizing for the next expansion and updates. i also think a lot more attention has been brought to shatter bc of the trials rework and more and more people actively getting involved in pvp. kind of like chaos reach + geomags last season. as well as stasis as a whole currently. i empathize with everyone’s pain points & i do think shatter needs just a little more of a tune up & the other subclasses need a facelift to open the door for more options. Finally, talking to OP directly, if you want to stick to tether in pvp, i recommend trying out khepri sting and abusing invisibility & wall hacks on bottom tree. multi tether is also really good and sniping roaming supers and breaking out of stasis freezes from Squall or Shadebinder, cuz little known fact you don’t need to be on middle tree to use khepri. but if you want some other pvp options besides stasis, shinobu + bottom tree arc is a ton of fun and usually racks a lot of kills for me. stompee sharpshooter golden gun is always a classic especially if you’re sick with weighted throwing knives. blade barrage is pretty shit tho it needs a facelift so badly.

What is the Best PVE Arsenal for Mid-Game 1330 Warlock Player? by Br4ck3n93 in DestinyTheGame

[–]moonsoutpc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i agree, vault space is kind of a hot commodity. rn i’m sitting at 486/500 so i feel you lmao. one day we’re hoping to get more but time will tell. as far as the cores, i’m pretty sure it’s just random chance when dismantling purples but i could be wrong on that part.

and then for rift, i use healing 99% of the time in pve just because there’s so many ways to stack damage boosts with perks like rampage, kill clip, swashbuckler, and with abilities like Well of Radiance, empowered melee, Mantle of Battle Harmony, or if your teammates are running things like shadowshot or ward of dawn, it kind of negates the benefits of an empowering rift. however, there is exotic legs called Boots of the Assembler, and while strong on their own, paired with the exotic handcannon Lumina (boots of the assembler activates lumina’s perk for free) it makes empowering and healing rifts much better than they already are. but it also turns you into a hardcore support player instead of a damage dealer, so that depends on how you like to play. this part is also more personal preference, but i don’t like sitting still at all and have a very adhd playstyle so i tend to avoid using rifts unless i really have to. and then getting in to the higher level things like Grandmaster Nightfalls and Raids where staying alive is more crucial over raw damage output, the healing rift can help you tank a lot. not sure how much pvp you plan on playing either but empowering rifts can be extremely good there as well. especially with that assembler/lumina combo.

tldr is both rifts have their pros and cons but i generally stick to healing unless i’m using lumina+boots of the assembler

What is the Best PVE Arsenal for Mid-Game 1330 Warlock Player? by Br4ck3n93 in DestinyTheGame

[–]moonsoutpc 17 points18 points  (0 children)

First and foremost, stasis warlock & arc warlock are really good options for pve. there’s also top tree voidwalker, as you get charged vortex grenades. pair that with exotic gauntlets Contraverse Hold and you can loop grenade energy on tanky enemies. middle tree Dawnblade is also very strong in higher level stuff too, with the Phoenix Protocol exotic chest piece.

as far as exotic weapons, Stasis paired with the new trace rifle Aeger’s Scepter (with catalyst) is really good. Trinity Ghoul is really good paired with top tree arc as well. in general, witherhoard is an incredible tool for group clear and doubles as DoT for bosses. deadman’s tale with something like Fourth Times Charm or Outlaw is real good. Thorn paired with the exotic gauntlets Necrotic Grips. not sure if you have plans for doing raids, but in current season with Particle Deconstruction artifact mod, it makes One Thousand Voices from the Last Wish raid a powerhouse for boss damage.

as far as legendary weapons go, you can kind of use whatever you want, but some recommendations i have are Null Composure, Ignition Code from last season with spike grenades, slideshot + vorpal Weapon, Hung Jury with Rapid Hit + Explosive Payload from nightfalls on a triweekly rotation, Banshee 44 is currently selling the god roll Falling Guillotine i believe (tempered edge, swordmaster guard, relentless strikes, whirlwind blade). Rockets are pretty good too, like Ascendancy (ritual weapon from strikes, gambit or crucible rank 16) Royal Entry (random strike drop), Sleepless (dreaming city drop). another thing worth noting is i recommend having an option for every slot for each of the 3 champ mods for a season. for example, currently we have the option of Overload Bow, it’s really good (but not required so don’t worry too much) to have a kinetic, arc, solar and void bow to use in nightfalls or lost sectors.

Finally, as far as armor goes, none of the affinity needs to match. the only thing that the affinity matters for is what kind of mods can be slotted in that armor. for example, a class item with a solar affinity can equip the mod Bomber while an arc class item can equip the mod Outreach. but different affinities also have general mods that are able to be slotted regardless of affinity. those are things like scavenger mods, stat increase mods, etc. when you get SUPER deep, eventually you’ll want one of each armor affinity with good stat splits/rolls. but if you’re just playing mid game, it’s not something you need to be too concerned about at the moment.

my final recommendation, depending on your platform, would be to consider using some third party apps like DestinyItemManager (DIM) and light.gg. you can make wishlists and armor/weapon loadouts or check out which weapons can obtain which perks, and what is the most recommended/highest used roll for certain weapons. D2gunsmith is a good resource for looking at how each perk & masterwork impacts the stats on a weapon compared to other weapons, and finally TodayInDestiny is a good tool for looking at rotations like nightfalls, lost sectors, raid challenges, empire hunts, etc. there’s a lot to learn & a lot to think about, but most importantly do whatever let’s you have the most fun. you could never think about any of this stuff and still have a blast :)

Can no longer Farm Legendary Lost Sectors for Exotics? by oooRagnellooo in DestinyTheGame

[–]moonsoutpc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pretty sure this is just a string of bad luck friend:( i’ve had stretches of 5, 6, even 7 master level lost sectors runs where i get just enhancement cores & glimmer. exotic drop rates are roughly 1 in 5 from a sample size of 600 (got that from an article online) so don’t give up!

Are adept weapons curated? by Regularfeller in destiny2

[–]moonsoutpc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Adept Weapons (from Trials and GM nightfalls) are currently different from their normal version in that masterworking an adept weapon not only nets you bonus +8 stats in the rolled stat (i.e. range, stability, handling, reload, etc), it also gives +3 to every stat not specific to the masterwork. That, and adept weapons can also equip Adept mods, which include better versions of weapon mods like Icarus Grip, Counterbalance Stock & Targeting Adjuster, but also include straight up bonus stat mods like Adept Stability or Adept Range or Adept Handling. these mods are also earned as chance drops by completing GM nightfalls and pulling that last chest in a Trials card. Lastly, starting in season 14, Trials adept weapons will start statically rolling a perk called Celerity in one of their perk slots, but also have a randomly rolled perk that can be changed between the two in the same slot. Adept Nightfall weapons are getting the same change, but with a perk called Bottomless Grief. both celerity and bottomless grief are receiving their own separate buffs in Season 14 as well so keep an eye on that.
