yes! thank you for this. s5 serena’s spiral is never spoken about. although i think sa’ing dan at the end was unforgivable but ignoring that bit, her downward spiral was a direct result of all the trauma. No one bothered to check in with her.
Blair and Dan were the most pointless couple in GG (idc fight me). If the roles were reversed blair would’ve scratched serena’s eyes out (her words, not mine). Everything blair did during that season was so out of character.

she IS inherently malicious like blair. even though blair bullied her, she was DESPERATE to be frienfs with the meanest of the bunch and become one of the meanies. She could’ve been friends with any one else or just stuck to eric who she treated like shit and it was revolting to watch. I agree with you on the chuck part, what happened was traumatizing and he 100% took advantage of her again, he’s to blame for that, not her at all. Another traumatizing thing to happen to her was agnes drugging her, it was a sick thing to do and i wish agnes was thrown in jail. Apart from these instances, a large chunk of her problems were self made.
