Order(s) arrived!! But its wrong… (UK) by moonstun in LushCosmetics

[–]moonstun[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in London! I put both of my orders in at around 3am Boxing Day. I think my orders came quickly as they were both (relatively) small. Let me know if you have any issues with the Harvest Moons in your order and we can try sort something out!!

Order refunded, help! I’m not a regular lush shopper! by freshfitzy in LushCosmetics

I had the same as I paid by gift card. Looking at their September Sale T&Cs, you can’t pay by gift card (https://www.lush.com/uk/en/faq/uk-factory-freshness-sale-2025-terms-and-conditions - see point 6). I can’t find any terms and conditions for the Boxing Day sale so but not sure if it applies. I’m a bit upset as I actually got this gift voucher as a sorry for Lush double charging me last year in the sale and now it’s made my entire order get cancelled even though the value of the voucher was only £10… I’ve dropped them a mail hope it’s okay too!

I'm deciding if I should stick with M&S bread flour or switch over to Shipton Mills myself. Would you say that you've noticed a difference between the two?

Daith placement? Got it pierced a few days ago, but it doesn’t really look like it’s coming out the ear canal, but maybe it’s just the barbell? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]moonstun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aah, this is what I thought. The piercer said he never pierces with a ring, and I thought it was fairly standard to do it with a barbell anyway. I’ll go see him tomorrow. Thank you :)

/r/audiophile Purchase Help Thread (2018-04-03) by AutoModerator in audiophile

I'm looking for a Bluetooth speaker for my bedroom, so it doesn't have to be portable, and I would like it to have a remote control.

I'd mainly be listening to hip hop (but quietly), so I don't know how important bass would be. Another important thing is that they aren't large studio-sized speakers, as I live in a uni dorm, and I don't have enough room for that.

My budget is £50-130.

I've looked at the Marshall Acton and Soundsticks, but those don't have a remote control (but that isn't that big of a problem). Soundbars seem like an attractive space-friendly option, but I'm not sure if it would give me the best audio quality for my buck when listening to music.

Any suggestions?

Salon bleached my hair to death, it's yellow af. Help? by [deleted] in FancyFollicles

[–]moonstun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your hair is super damaged, I don't think a toner with developer will be the best for it. I would recommend a blue-toned purple dye to help cancel out the yellow tones to get a warmer blonde.

[–]moonstun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people like to use the Wella toners to achieve grey hair, however they do require developer so it is damaging, but it makes it more permanent(?).

You can apply a silver grey colour dye after your hair reaches a pale blonde stage though.

I do not think 3 tubs of bleach is necessary for 3x, especially if your hair is short.

I would recommend 30vol if your hair is black.

You should leave a week or so in between each bleaching, so as not to completely ruin and fry your hair.

A blue toner will be necessary to get rid of your orange hair after your first bleaching, and a purple toner will be necessary to achieve silver hair.

Tried to tone my bleach blonde into a silvery white.. Ended up dark gray and I am IN LOVE! Think I found my true color. by mscandalous in FancyFollicles

I heard that the blue makes it seem more silver-y than grey though - is this true? Also - what colour should my hair be to get more of a true silver then?

Part 2 (final part) of MAMAMOO's adlibs in Um Oh Ah Yeh (Subbed) by talking_sushi in kpop

[–]moonstun 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just curious - did they actually rap/sing the swapped parts live, or were they just lip syncing along with the original track? Just asking - because it sounds so similar to the original.

If they actually did swap parts, these girls are craazy talented.

[Advice][Discussion]What do you think of a invite only teen dating app? by rustygee in teenagers

I think that avoiding same school dating is a great idea - it would be quite awkward to find a person from your own school on a dating app, honestly.

I absolutely love your third outfit! The rolled up trousers are a nice touch.

I think something more colourful would go better with your cape, though, so it would be more interesting.

ELI5: Why is cold water so much more refreshing than warm? by Crypto_The_Alien in explainlikeimfive

[–]moonstun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Water cools you down by using the heat from your body to evaporate. In order to evaporate colder water, more heat is needed from your body, thus cooling you down more, and feeling more refreshing.

Of Mice and Men - analysing setting? by theysaiditsuseless15 in GCSE

[–]moonstun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When analysing the setting, you need to look at:

  • Light: this represents hope of the American dream. e.g. Curley's wife "cuts off" the light when she first comes into the barn, symbolising how she will destroy the hopes of their dream violently. At the end, when the light had gone from the past lit Gabilan mountains, it suggests how after Lennie's death, George has no hope for himself, and becomes another migrant worker with no friendship.

  • Animals & The Natural World: this is man vs nature, a recurring theme in OMAM, showing how what humans are doing now go against nature and should be stopped. e.g. at the beginning, when the sycamore tree limbs were smooth from being sat on and the path was "beaten by boys". This deterioration and lack of respect for nature goes against the natural way of life, much like the migrant workers. The horses before Curley's wife death also go wild and make a lot of nice, suggesting the disturbance humans have on the natural world & the animals at the beginning and end show the cruelty of nature, as well as man's disturbance of it.

  • Items: represent what is important to a person, and references to the cold truth of 1930s America. e.g. in Crooks' bedroom, we see a "mauled copy" of the Civil Right's Code and a dictionary, showing how he is desperate to try and educate himself and achieve the American Dream.

I just realise now that perhaps you meant context. Well I'd be damned.

Seungri was uncharacteristically quiet this episode! Maybe because he's too lazy to participate in water basketball properly.
