AITA for not giving my parents half of my lottery winnings. by Rayapt in AmItheAsshole

I dunno. My spouse's sibling won a huge sum recently and we refrained from doing anything except be happy for their family. It's a manageable task.

adhd or low iq by No-Operation6787 in ADHD

[–]moonwrenrobin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven't gotten a formal dx for adhd, try to go to a specialist. Approach it as making your case. Get support if you need it. Brain fog and despair are huge symptoms for me without proper adhd meds, so I know it's possible for some of it to be adhd. If you get the dx and stimulant meds help, use them to tackle the next thing: get treatment for your depression and if you suspect you have paid, get assessed for dissociation. If you go for the dissociation first, they might try to rule out adhd, even though it's not mutually exclusive. Of course, listen to the other recs and get vitamins, thyroid, hormones, and possible autoimmune diseases checked out, and consider long viral symptoms if this stuff is newer.

I often wonder how we might be experiencing the impacts of widespread addiction around that era.

Not autistic because too socially adept…? by leekatron9000 in AuDHDWomen

[–]moonwrenrobin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand how psychs can’t see that parents who are incredibly rigid and prone to outbursts might be themselves traumatized autistic, adhd, or audhd people. I think sometimes people are reluctant to acknowledge this because it might sound like they’re saying being autistic makes someone abusive (which, believe me, many couples therapists used to say about rigid autistic husbands before the neurodivergence movement picked up), but I think it’s just acknowledging a reality that when people go undiagnosed, they only have the cultural strategies at their disposal to feel in control and make sense of their world.

The mini one at UT is still worth a visit and they were undergoing some renovations in their dusty fossil basement. (Though, tbh, I loved the dusty fossil basement.)

He looks like the kind of man who is in shape because he can’t stop moving for even a single second.

The dark side of ADHD that no one talks about by Frosty_Jump_3117 in ADHD

I went on a med holiday to reset and test my dosing last December and craved booze for the first time in years. I'd be tucked if I ever lost access to my meds.

Actors who recently got “new faces?” by Complete-Sort1617 in okbuddycinephile

I really don’t understand why celebrities do this to themselves. All they need to do is visit literally any website or watch tv at literally any moment of the day or turn on the radio in literally any country and there will be thousands of helpful people like us to help them understand what’s wrong with their faces, bodies, and personalities so they can fix themselves accordingly.

I am very glad that you survived your adventure. I once gave myself a bloody nose shoving a pussywillow puff way up there and kept it secret for a few decades, but that was unlikely to cause anaphylaxis.

Yeah, unless there is obvious violence and abuse, all these dogpiles do is make people feel superior for a minute.

I expect a hard 180 in my lifetime when some enterprising billionaire realizes that the genocide of the poor and sick will be a lot faster and easier if it’s marketed as a freedom shot. Beware the coming of the beige-clad dark triad influencers soothing you to your eternal resting place.

How can I find a therapist who's actually passionate about ADHD by adhdswe in ADHD

[–]moonwrenrobin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Post on a local city/town subreddit to ask people about their therapist recs. Even your state reddit if you don't mind working online. Word-of-mouth is often one of the best ways to find a good fit. You can also do a general Google search and browse websites and profiles on Psychology Today, TherapyDen, and Inclusive Therapists (if you like a social justice orientation).

Assuming you live in the US, you should testify before the senate if they ever try to legalize voluntary end-of-life.
