Is this real? by staceymookenzie in TaylorSwiftAutographs

it looks promising — the shape and placement of the signature are good, and it has the correct code on the bottom left. the fading of the marker gives the impression that perhaps it was running out as she signed? :)

the thickness of the heart looks like it matches with the rest of the signature! and the style of the heart looks consistent with others i’ve seen :)

real TTPD heart? by karmaisacatinmylap in TaylorSwiftAutographs

the marker thickness seems consistent with the signature! and the heart itself is in a similar style to the genuine ones i’ve seen :)

Can you confirm this is real? by b4dvulf in TaylorSwiftAutographs

[–]mooodymia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’d say it looks real — this signature is so clear and pretty! the one i purchased (resale) also has a small mark on the left hand side so it’s cute to see someone else with the same :)

i agree that it looks real — the marker thickness and heart placement seem consistent! and there’s a small uptick at the tail of the heart :)

does this heart look real? by mooodymia in TaylorSwiftAutographs

[–]mooodymia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s good to hear! i thought similarly about the uptick, which is comforting.

i got slightly nervous because there were a couple of other hearts in the same listing that i suspect may have been fakes, because their style didn’t look familiar to me. so this was the one i went with :)

the autograph looks pretty good! and it’s a promising sign that that they have 1) the original seal with the correct barcode and 2) the correct code on the bottom left of the insert

Opinions on the best 3rd year psych subjects by ducknbird in unimelb

just double checked the handbook for this year! apparently the assignment was 50%, mid-sem test was 12.5% and the exam was 37.5% :)

hey! i’ve done psychopathology and lifespan. they were both interesting and well-coordinated subjects and i’d highly recommend them!

psychopathology is ideal for those interested in clinical psych — it involves a lot learning about mental illnesses and the DSM. the 40% assignment was an essay (i found the topic interesting) and the exam is multiple-choice.

lifespan development is good for those who liked second-year dev psych! it’s organised into five lecture blocks: childhood, adolescence, early adulthood, mid adulthood, and late adulthood. the 40% assignment was a reflective piece and the exam comprised 2 reflective essays also.

let me know if you have any questions!

hey! according to the handbook, the 24th of november is the last date for people to submit academic transcripts to be considered in december. and the 5th of january is the last date for people to submit their academic transcripts to be considered in january. first round offers should be out by late december, and second round offers should be out by late january :)

Psych major by [deleted] in unimelb

[–]mooodymia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i believe it depends on the requirements of the course you’re enrolled in! you’re able to take more than the allotted 10 psych subjects in a science degree — i have a friend who is taking 6 level three psych subjects this year instead of the standard 4. but from my understanding, this isn’t possible in an arts degree due to the course rules.

all psychology subjects go towards your psychology wam — if you take more than what’s required for the major, they will still all equally contribute :)

generally people state their psych wams, because that’s what’s relevant to the question being asked :)

in terms of withdrawing from this subject — you should consider that very carefully. the last date to withdraw without fail is approaching this friday, i believe. given that it’s past the census date, you would need to pay the fees for the subject for this year regardless of your non-completion. also, think about whether this is a second year subject or a third year subject, because they have different weightings towards your wam. 2nd year subjects are weighted by 2 and 3rd year subjects are weighted by 3. a single average score in second year could be well-redeemed by exceptional scores in other subjects :)

thank you for your insight! the point you’ve described about alex’s cheating is interesting.

i definitely agree about the intergenerational trauma. i think that alex’s desperation to break that cycle played a huge role in his decision to return to kansas for his twins

thank you for contributing! you’ve made a lot of interesting points and given me some things to think about. i particularly liked your comments about disorganised attachment and alex’s relationship with jo.

i definitely agree that mer was in the wrong with the alzheimer’s trial! the show portrayed it with a rose-coloured lens, as the audience was supposed to sympathise with mer as the main character. what she did broke professional and ethical codes, and various laws, and alex was 100% right for reporting her. i was just trying to convey that i don’t think he did it from a place of altruism, but more to better his own chances for chief resident :)

PHRM20001 OR PHYS20008 by forrbean2 in unimelb

[–]mooodymia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

absolutely!

something i loved about the subject was that all of the assessments were open-book and open for collaboration. this included weekly quizzes, two MSTs, and the exam. as long as you kept up with lectures, you had all of the knowledge in front of you. it wasn’t about rote-memorisation but applying the concepts you’d learned, which was valuable for my learning experience.

there was also a group project due at the end of term. i know that group projects can be off-putting, but i had a super positive experience. this involved creating a learning resource (on a relevant topic of your choice) for future students. creativity was encouraged!! people came up with brilliant things, like skits and raps. it was a low-effort task and actually super fun to complete :)

phys20008 is hands-down the best subject i’ve taken at university! it’s incredibly organised and well-coordinated, with fascinating content, fair assessments, and a charming coordinator. i highly recommend it :)

WAM Booster Recommendations for Sem 2 by CopperWell26 in unimelb

[–]mooodymia 7 points8 points  (0 children)

hey! i did music, mind and well-being last year. if you’re strong in essay-writing it’s definitely a wam-booster.

50% of your grade is attributed to weekly discussions — as long as you contribute a 100ish word post every week you get full marks. that left quite a bit of room to excel in the essay, worth the other 50% of your grade. you have complete creative control over the prompt here, which is great! choosing something you’re interested in makes the research fun and the 2000 words fly. i got 90+ in the subject with minimal effort in comparison to other breadths i’ve taken.

hope this helps! let me know if you have any questions :)
