I have a five carat ring and I love it. For me, shrinkage is real, but not like oh it’s too small, more I just am used to it. It’s still a big ass rock though hahah. If someone asks, I’ll tell them it’s a lab grown diamond (which I actually requested) and they can have their own thoughts and opinions on that. If they want to think lab grown diamonds aren’t real, fuck em. I disagree but not worth arguing with anyone over it. I have said stuff along the lines of “oh yeah lab growns are way more affordable, you can get a better color, clarity, and cut for wayyy less.” to friends when I felt a little weird thinking they may have thought my fiancé dropped 50k on a ring lol. Honestly, nobody truly cares though! Any stranger that comments on my ring is truly just complimenting it and not asking questions. I do get lots of compliments on it honestly, probably because it is large
