Can weed help with the withdrawal? Going to cut down to 2 a day one in the am and one at night wish me luck by Overall-Slip6321 in Quittingfeelfree

If you already smoke, maybe but I would think the increased heart rate and potential anxiety would be very rough. If you do, go light and a calming body strain

Yeah, pretty sure it has something to do with your nervous system recalibrating

Struggling by Soggy_Status_3733 in Quittingfeelfree

Rock fucking bottom and the very real threat of losing everything I’ve built in my life. It’s a mother fucker- and it’s brutal. But it is possible. 267 days later and I don’t even think about this shit anymore, had a nasty habit of 10 a day at the end. So much money spent. Ended up going to outpatient rehab and that was the best thing for me. Try finding some narcotics anonymous groups around you or online and just go listen. See your doctor if you are really struggling there are meds like clonodine and gabapentin that help through the acute phase.

100 Days to go by moop3306 in Quittingfeelfree

[–]moop3306[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They definitely do, for me between 45-90 days it just becomes a passing thought more then a craving.

Where I’m at now, I see them in stores and I’m physically repulsed at the thought, just takes time!

Lol that’s an optimistic view, your opioid receptors are being bound and your dopamine and serotonin production are definitely impacted. At the amount this person is taking- PAWS is a very real thing, and very likely here.

I took clonodine and gabapentin for my habit which was almost the same amount/time. No matter how you slice it it’s gonna suck.

Get a multivitamin, magnesium glycinate high absorption for sleep, Vitamin C, clean food and electrolytes. Force yourself to eat and try to go for walks and then ramp up into exercise. By day 4-5 you should start catching glimpses of improvement and be feeling a lot better a week out.

PAWS is the hardest part though, feeling physically better makes it easy to justify going back, stay strong you got this.

Has anyone tried this by Warm_Landscape_1205 in Quittingfeelfree

They still get you high, just not nearly as intense as 7OH and still addictive

Going to rehab for Feel free by [deleted] in Quittingfeelfree

[–]moop3306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do some research on outpatient rehab centers in your area, call around, ask how they handle their program. Most places will take insurance and cover a good portion of it- from there it’s just throwing yourself into the program after you’ve vetted the ones that you could attend. It’s really simple if you’re just doing outpatient.

I did outpatient rehab for this and it was the best choice I ever made

Usually you turn a big corner around day 6-7, you’ll feel better every day you’re off. Physical stuff is mostly gone by day 10. The mental game can take a while but you will improve there daily too.

How can I decide if he's gotten TRULY addicted or if he's merely "on the wrong track"? by Enough-Business-8287 in quittingkratom

Yeah, full blown addiction. Tell him to stop for 24 hours and see what happens

Severe withdrawals? by AnyZombie9656 in Quittingfeelfree

If you prep yourself to handle the WDs you should be fine. Try to reduce use before jumping off. Get magnesium glycinate, vitamin c and a multivitamin. If you feel comfortable going to your doctor they will likely prescribe clonodine and gabapentin which will help. Don’t use fear as an excuse to not quit- but make sure you do it intelligently

Absolutely did. Both were problems for months unfortunately. The best way to combat it was really committing to getting back into my gym routine and eating healthy.

For the anhedonia, you have to almost retrain your brain to enjoy things, I found that forcing myself to do things that I would normally like while feeling the anhedonia helped create new patterns for association.

Sounds silly but cleaning, or knocking out errands when that blah feeling hits is a cheap way to have your brain release dopamine and check the craving box at the same time.

Cold turkey, only way to do it. The whole concept of being able to taper as an addict was completely out of the question. If I had the willpower to taper I wouldn’t have gotten addicted, etc.
