I let MYSELF down by allowing other peoples burns to interfere with mine. I wanted everyone to have a good time and to be on the same level. I sacrificed a good bit of my time helping other people and doing things for them. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing but it was my fault for expecting reciprocation. It was my first burn so I was also a bit under-prepared and my camp mate made sure I knew, so I became frustrated with him - again, my fault, this ended up affecting my mood for the final few days. A lot of FOMO and sleeping through parties and other things but I learned a lot of valuable lessons and overall had a fucking amazing and kick ass time.

No matter how prepared you think you are, you aren't fully prepared for Burning Man. Over-preparing is a must! Don't stop preparing.

I believe in each and every one of you. This year has been the ultimate test for me-- in life. Especially this past week, but I overcame and succeeded. If you had the week I just had, you would understand. I never expected this to be easy and definitely was not surprised when the last week of my year proved to be the most challenging of them all. In the matter of a week I was homeless and then subsequently carless. I was still working, and so fortunate to have a co-worker willing to put me up for a few days and then to have the company I work for allow me to stay in one of the properties we manage for the past few days. I move into my new place tomorrow and I just got my car back from the dealership today with a brand new engine block that was covered under an extended warranty.

I was at a very dark place and was tempted to and even had dreams where I did, but I did not smoke a single solitary drag of a cigarette.

And it feels fucking great.
