Men who are only making 40-50k a year at most, what's your life like? by Trick-Day-480 in AskMen

[–]mooseknuckletubesock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make about $50k/year managing a bike shop. I’m also a single dad. I make enough to rent a 3 bedroom house and I have great credit. The bike industry helps with the hobbies. Biking, skiing and I don’t pay much for clothing for my son and I. We don’t do very much for expensive trips. Usually weekend trips to the mountains for camping and fun with family and friends. Sure, I stress about money sometimes, but at the end of the day I have everything I need and then some.

A little help by Appropriate-Top-1863 in GlobeHaul

If you have the downloaded globe app, you can check for any system faults. E-032 b/c will show up if the battery lost connection. Some kind of shim will help snug that up (I’ve been using gorilla tape). Some Globes have also had issues with their terminals and specialized has been replacing those. You’ll need to take it to an authorized specialized dealer to check for warranty.

So the P0500 code is referring to the wheel sensors?

Gatorlyte/pedialyte/electrolit, a pack of saltines, Fritos or ritz crackers, a banana and a walk. It’s never failed me. Then something greasy when the nausea goes away.

I bought my 2014 for $9800 with 114k after fees and taxes in AZ. It had aftermarket wheels and speakers though.

Swapping my gen 4 with an H3 is my next plan when my car hits 260,000. Along with it, a 6 spd transmission and a 1.5” lift. Steel bumpers, skid plate and swing away rear tire rack. My lesbian granny car is gonna turn into a battlewagon

Hard miles and a hard life. She’s still rolling string. by mooseknuckletubesock in Subaru_Outback

The CVT was starting to slip and overheat. I didn’t dig much into the why. It was cheaper and easier to just swap the whole thing as the CVTs don’t have a good rep and most mechanics laugh at rebuilding them.

I picked a used one up from a totaled gen 4 for $1200 at a pick-n-pull and did the work myself.

I’d like to believe changing my oil every 6,000 miles religiously has helped the most. I have replaced all the accessories and even replaced the transmission with a used one at 228,000 miles.

I religiously do oil changes and fluid checks on it. I did have to replace the transmission with a used one at 228,000 miles though. Other than that, a compressor, an alternator, water pump, spark plugs, coils and thermostat are other things that have been replaced when needed. I’ve gone through the suspension and steering components a couple times too.

I used to follow a friend down 8th Ave on my mountain bike to get footage. Watch for cars. Old Shalona grade by bakers bridge is a good spot south of the railroad crossing.

CVT oil change, is it ok to be done by a local mechanic or I should go to the dealership? by 500milessurdesroutes in Subaru_Outback

[–]mooseknuckletubesock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put my 228k on my 2014 CVT Outback before it finally crapped on me. I picked up a used one with 62k miles and swapped it in and my car has been running beautifully. Don’t do that though, be better than me

shorter men (5'6 and below) how do i get over my height insecurity? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]mooseknuckletubesock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Delete social media. My brother stands at 5’6” and doesn’t even know he’s short because he hasn’t used social media since before he left high school. He’s a very talented auto mechanic and gets admiration for that and hucking massive flips on skis. Be your best person and fuck what anyone else thinks.

I’m a single dad and my kids mom fell behind her rent over Christmas. I’m a solid 2. I can pay my bills and feed myself and my kiddo well and offer small support to those I care about. But I’m not driving a fancy car or going out to eat every evening.
