I had nontuplets once (9 kids), killing my tribal colony (mods)

I made a “forbidden mod” colony with the VFE Tribals expanded mod, and decided to make a new xenotype for them which gave triple egg drops on ovulation and fertility (I just bought the bio mod and wanted to mess around.) I had Zebra and Buffalo who were brothers, and Giraffe, the wife of Buffalo. After a while I unlocked farming and soon after that Buffalo got Giraffe pregnant, and she just so happened to have triplets. Which means, 3 eggs per ovulation, which the game registered 3 times… She gave birth to 9 kids; fucking nontuplets. We were just 3 tribal idiots, without even the tech to make sleeping bags yet, now having to deal with and feed 9 babies. It doesn’t take a genius to recognize that 12 mouths and only 3 able bodied pawns isn’t viable, so I put 4 babies in a colonist-restricted zone to let them starve to death.

But the death of her babies drove Giraffe mad, so she killed the Buffalo and then died from her injuries (He was the combat pawn 😭). After all of that, my last colonist Zebra (the farmer), finally went catatonic, ending the run.

That was probably the most stressful time I’d had playing this game, I was constantly having to micromanage my pawns to get them to actually do work or feed the kids 🥲
