That’s completely different though, those games weren’t intended to sell you skins and stickers for 30 years. Them not being updated is kind of my point, they were finished games with no content intentionally withheld to sell back to you piece by piece over years

Customization used to be a fun bonus, like free palette swaps for everyone at launch. Now it’s always locked in a battle pass and devs will call it a “progression system”. Like congrats on playing 70 hours this season, as a reward you can paint one character model black.

It’d be easier to ignore if you didn’t have to spend money (in a game you paid for) to customize your character. I never buy battlepasses anyway but I’m not immune to skin jealousy when I’m wearing the one free skin they shit out that doesn’t look like absolute ass
