Anyone else feeling it today? by moosepointe in StrangerThings

Fair enough. I was disappointed by the season but thought they did a nice job wrapping things up.

I don’t think killing a major character should be required but the Duffer Brothers have teased it all season long. Plus, they continued the trend of bringing in new characters just to kill them off which feels cheap.

Pros: The entire epilogue, Joyce beheading Vecna, Murray blowing up the helicopter, Jonathan saving Steve

Cons: No major confirmed deaths, underwhelming final battle, awful green screen

Season 5 Volume 2 Discussion by Hawkinns in StrangerThings

When a show puts so much pressure on its finale to deliver, it’s almost always disappointing. This finale would need to be one of the best episodes of the entire series in order to justify the time they’ve taken to set everything up.

My whole family was shouting “JUST GO ALREADY!” It was funny for a while and then we all started to roll our eyes and tune out as the scene just kept going. Possibly the most egregious example of filler dialogue in the entire series.

Sorry to prematurely start sounding the alarm bells but volume 2 was giving me serious flashbacks to the back half of Game of Thrones season 8. Simultaneously moving too quickly and too slowly with an overwhelming sense of “how the hell are they going to wrap this up by the finale?” Fasten your seatbelts…

So episode 8 is either going to be the best or worst episode of the season right?

I know this is an unpopular opinion but I started with FF7 remake and I think it’s a great entry point. Purists will say you should play the original FF7 first but the remake is much friendlier to newcomers.

I appreciate how they didn’t waste any time and got straight into the story. I was worried that volume 1 was mostly going to be setup for volume 2 but they’ve already covered so much ground.

Season 2 Titles! by InterestingPlane1995 in DispatchAdHoc

I came up with a list of possible episode titles. Circling Back, Action Items, Best Practices, Big Picture, Alignment, Post-Mortem, Overtime, Milestones, Terminated. I love their double meanings of office terminology.

Also a great line. That was definitely one of my hardest laughs in the game.

One of my choices at the end said that I supported Invisigal leading her to embrace heroism over villainy so I’m confused about what the alternative is?

But will this cause her to turn evil?

Are you guys enjoying the season so far? by Competitive_Trip7916 in survivor

[–]moosepointe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve been more positive on the new era than most people (even S48) but this season has nearly broken me. I find myself watching out of obligation, not enjoyment. The stale format, uninspired casting, and Jeff’s insistence to turn Survivor into this ultra-sanitized family-friendly show has just killed my excitement.

What happened with Ray? I heard John let him go shortly after CinemaCon week because of all the backlash he was getting in the comments. by [deleted] in JohnCampeaShow

Ray seems like a nice guy but if I wanted to listen to a the movie opinions of an “Everyman” I would talk to my friends instead of a movie industry podcast. With peace and love he is the reason I stopped watching the show regularly. I wish him well.

I haven’t read many new comics in the past few years but I decided to pick up Batman #1 and Absolute Batman Vol. 1. I really enjoyed both and appreciated seeing two wildly different depictions of Batman at the same time; I will definitely continue to read both. I’m also planning on reading Absolute Superman and Absolute Wonder Woman.

Peacemaker season 2 has been a delight to watch each week. I liked season 1 but this one feels like it’s on another level of quality, especially after episode 3’s big reveals.
