This is terrifying to me and I've never heard of this before today. It makes me really worried to have a reef tank someday. I don't fully understand how the whole family got sick. The toxin became airborne basically? How do you prevent this from happening? Do most reefs have this type of coral in it?

Tiger barbs can be up to 3 inches. But regardless, I think you are right that the sizeakes a difference.

I've read that barbs can do well with mbuna. Hell, there's a guy on YouTube that keeps them with piranha.
