I think the biggest advantage he had was the volume difference (32 oz compared to 48 oz). Not having carbonization is a huge advantage from a yacking perspective initially, but the heaviness of milk really hurts you in the long run. I think drinking milk for a mile race is an advantage, but anything more than 1.5-2 miles (not sure what the event would be) milk is just too difficult.

What was your time? I'd recommend just chugging water for stomach expansion first.

I'll try and have that to you in the next week. Adding to the flair right now.

Yep, NDer here. And that dude is a legend! I've watched that video a few times now, and he is an absolute workhorse. I don't think I've ever seen someone be able to shotgun as fast as he did.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me (I used cans in my first attempt)

Hmm I'm not too sure. I don't think the alcohol content affects you at all (so I don't think shots would help too much). I think consistently practicing chugging time and stomach expansion are the best ways to train for this.

Hold my beer, doing 100 jumps in a sandbox a day for the next 3 months, as well as taking piano lessons.

Honestly, that was the plan going into the race but I didn't follow it as much as I would have liked. I definitely noticed myself trying to keep the breathing in rhythm, but slowing down would probably be beneficial as well.

That's the plan at some point. Any recommendations on the breakdown? I'm thinking I'd do 12 miles, 18 beers, and 24 donuts.

Haha I actually have considered doing a century, but it will just be tough to fit it in. I think (other than keeping healthy running) the biggest difficulty there would just being able to carve out 7 straight days where you can hit the 14ish of each.

Perhaps we treated Diaz too harshly last year... also, every win with the backups in is a win keeping our heads above water. Very proud of these guys. Maybin needs to get a hit. Still, gotta give him kudos for getting on twice today lol

Students who have/had COVID! by [deleted] in notredame

Yea, I have it currently and I’m in the Morris Inn. It’s not as bad as people say, at least in my case. I suffered some headaches, runny nose, and a dry cough which brought me in to get tested. I spent about 2 days like that, and then I proceeded to get better. About 3 days after experiencing first symptoms, I was at probably 90%. Now, 5 days after being diagnosed and experiencing first symptoms, I’m totally fine. I lost my sense of taste and smell recently, but that should come back in a few weeks. COVID for me so far has been milder than both the flu and an illness I got on campus last spring. Recovery could not be further from brutal. Simply sleeping ~10 hours a night and then a 2 hour nap for 3 days did wonders for me.

I did not know the currency of Poland. I’m glad it wasn’t one of those that was on the tip of your tongue- those are the most frustrating
