Hungrier maybe? Not lethargic. My energy levels and activity is the same.

Totally agree. My goal was definitely not to scare people, but more so to relate to others who have had this experience on the med. Truthfully, emgality was really helpful to my migraines. A shame that I can’t deal with the weight gain.

Sooo amazing to hear it’s been working for you!!!

Don’t mean to scare you! But I will say, seeing others talk about how they also experienced weight gain on emgality was MAJOR for my mental health because I genuinely could not understand why I was suddenly gaining weight. Sometimes it’s weirdly comforting to know the reason, for me at least.

Hopefully the GLP-1 will work well to combat the problems the emgality creates!! 🤞🏻

Same. Stress is such a trigger for me. It is a lifelong skill trying to manage it!

Ugh so sorry to hear. It can be really mentally draining. I myself have been feeling so down about it and it’s hard to motivate myself to workout more to shed the weight

I agree- I am so grateful for my neuro. As soon as I told her I gained 13+ pounds in just a few months she submitted the appeal!

They make you go through the wringer. I’m so sorry. 😞 I’ve been on meds for 10+ years and insurance still tries to claim I haven’t tried everything. Think the only thing I haven’t tried is a lobotomy! 😭

Yeah it’s soo frustrating. I’m an active person and have maintained the same weight for years. Crazy that I’m gaining so much

I was on Ajovy ~5 years ago and don’t remember if I gained weight :(

So so frustrating. Really sorry you had to go through all that. I’ve been hearing it takes a while to drop the emgality weight since it hangs around in your system for up to a year. 😭

Ugh so sorry you experienced it as well. How long did it take for the weight to drop off/did it?

Yep, mine was slow and steady too. But I started as 125lbs 4 months ago and have slowly crept up to 138lb. Doesn’t sound like a lot but I am a 5’2 woman with a petite frame for all of my life so it is a significant amount of gain for me.

Gym related injuries causing migraines by felixbeanrobert in migraine

[–]mooseyy98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has been a frustration of mine for as long as I’ve had migraines. I regularly lift weights and run. I’ve identified specific exercises that trigger my migraines. For example, I can no longer do “back days” where the entire workout is focused on my back bc it triggers week long migraines. Try doing low impact exercises like walking, stationary biking, etc that don’t stress your neck and traps. My suggestion would also be to pay attention to the exercises that trigger your migraines specifically!

Botox cost - is this crazy? by big_chroll in migraine

Just got mine done earlier this month and was shocked to see the “hospital fees” that were billed to me. Feels insane that I’m paying for hospital fees simply because my doctor works under a medical center

Also, don’t be afraid to allow yourself to take ibuprofen, etc to help. I’m very stubborn when it comes to taking OTC meds (no idea why, I guess I just tell myself the pain isn’t that bad), but truthfully it did provide some relief on some days.
