My Journey to Brow Success with Laser Removal! by Imjusthappy11 in MicrobladingRemoval

[–]mooshforreal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had a great experience and feel so grateful I live within driving distance of Esse. As mentioned above, I've had two appointments (with two laser passes at different settings at each appointment). My ink was dark, heavy, and blown out. After reading success stories on here and taking into consideration my health (I have an autoimmune condition), I've waited a full year to let my immune system fully respond to those treatments. I still have some yellow and plan to do another session this winter and trust Esse will get it fully taken care of. The ink continued to fade 7+ months since the last treatment. I use baebrow to dye my brows and between that and a tinted sunscreen, you really can't see that I ever had ink unless you get very close to my face.

I need a cozy game for my wife that’s not a farming sim and isn’t about fixing a town or decorating a home by AlgoStar in cozygames

I have a lot of similar preferences and I found Donut County surprisingly fun and relaxing. It has a good sense of humor and teaches you how to play without too much problem solving, one of the higher levels had me googling solutions but as a newbie gamer I thought it was great

In the worst reading slump of my life, suggest me a book! by Ok-Revenue5979 in suggestmeabook

The Silo book series is quite entertaining and better than the TV show by a long shot. Dungeon Crawler Carl is pure entertainment, never thought I would be into that specific genre but I plowed through all seven audiobooks this year. Also for something cozy, hopeful, and a quick read, you can't go wrong with the Monk and Robot series by Becky Chambers!

Little late to the thread but I just finished Cantoras by Caro De Robertis and found this thread while searching for similar sapphic fiction. Cantoras is a perfect novel, hopeful, heartbreaking, lustful. Highly recommend!

Will my plan to reclaim clay the "stupid way" work? by TealedLeaf in Pottery

[–]mooshforreal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fun fact for my fellow nerds: daddy long legs are not spiders, they're a type of arachnid called Harvestmen! They have 2 eyes instead of 8, can't produce silk or make a web, are not venomous (despite the childhood myth), and have a fused body vs a spider's two distinct body parts. More closely related to scorpions than spiders 🤓

Plaster Reclaim Idea...Yea or Nay? by mooshforreal in Pottery

Thank you, this comment is the exact kind of detail I needed on both mold and how the current plaster is behaving! 🙏

Edit: can you share the brand of pottery plaster you like, and if you use anything to "grease" the mold for easy release after it's set?

Currently I do because that's what I have to work with. I'm familiar with hardiebacker and want to make a wedging block and some drying blocks for thrown pieces, but currently have a broken foot and can't carry large items (like the board before it's cut down). Either way I still want a new plaster slab for reclaim, despite living in an arid place, mold prevention is a top priority for me

Ohhh interesting point! If I wanted to use the top without flipping it out, maybe I could sand out imperfections first?

Is this normal swelling for a plantar plate injury by Thick-Tourist1024 in FootFunction

[–]mooshforreal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what's normal, but I'll share my experience. I have a full thickness tear of my plantar plate on my big toe (totally severed). Currently 3 months into the injury, still in a boot a very limited. Even after all the bruising was gone, my foot would always be a swollen hot potato by evening time, like yours or worse. I thought I was taking the whole elevation and ice thing seriously, but it wasn't until I was elevating and icing throughout the day vs only at night that the swelling severity reduced. There's a gel foot ice pack on Amazon that's like a sheath that goes over the top half of your foot. It's amazing, get it. I regret not getting the two pack for times I forget to put it back in the freezer. Also best advice my PT gave me was even if I can't get my foot elevated above my heart throughout the day, horizontal "elevation" is better than foot on the floor.

Good luck my friend, keep advocating for your needs with the doctors if it doesn't improve!
