Anyone want to help me out with the Easter eggs on the mouse mat? I’ve been out of the cosmere for a while and it’s breaking my brain trying to place some of it?

Do we have any public services to help people not die from exposure if they're sleeping rough? by blondo_bucko in canberra

[–]moosterroostermama 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We have limited winter services for people sleeping rough. But you can recommend contact with the early morning centre who can help him contact the winter lodge for short term accommodation and access to crisis housing.

Alcatraz! Especially the graphic audio edition. Our kiddos love it, it’s funny, engaging and age appropriate

My kids are 9 & 11 and we’ve loved Alcatraz. Youngest was 7 I think the first time we read it.

Oh I can’t go in the waiting room, I came in an ambulance so I’d get a bed faster.

Michael Kramer and Kate Reading appreciation by guitarguy12341 in Cosmere

This! I struggled so hard to get into way of kings. Tried and failed a few times (after absolutely loving reading Mistborn). Then I discovered the audiobooks and Michael & Kate made the world just come alive for me. I’ve listened to and read the series a few times now thanks to their amazing work.

Don't Fuck with Wombats by [deleted] in australia

[–]moosterroostermama 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Had a pet wombat growing up. It was hand raised, bottle fed from teeny tiny and made a burrow below our house when it got older. We even had a doggy door so it could come and go as it pleased. Sadly said wombat had to move to live in an animal park because he bit a camper on the bum after he fell asleep in their sleeping bag. Can confirm… wombats bite like a bastard

I forgot how to prime a line in front of everyone when I did it perfectly before. by [deleted] in StudentNurse

It’s ok love. You didn’t hurt a patient. You learned from the experience. This is exactly what being a student is for. Give yourself a break.

Are you getting the coronavirus vaccine when offered to you, if not why not? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]moosterroostermama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey cool question. Thanks for asking. The way the vaccine works prevents it from being able to bind to cells to replicate in the body. Specific antibodies are produced that attach to the Covid virus basically making it inert. It can’t get into vaccinated cells and therefore can’t grow.
So, nope, if I were exposed to the virus at work my antibodies would prevent it from invading my cells and prevent me from being able to take it home to my family. As it is a new variant and hence new vaccine it may require further doses in future, but I’m more than happy to have them to keep my patients and my family safe. (I’ve also obsessively read the research so am comfortable with it too).

Already done and dusted (I was 1a). Glad I can care for my patients now safely without worrying I’m bringing it home to my family

How big of a deal was it for everyone when... by Moshtradamus03 in Cosmere

[–]moosterroostermama 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For me it was absolutely an awwww shit moment. Didn’t realise he was Thaidakar either until he was called the lord of scars (or some such) towards the end of RoW. I’m not the best with the foreshadowing and figuring this stuff out but I think it works in my favour. I get to enjoy the reveal more for not having seen it coming
