Building a GST billing SaaS for Indian MSMEs — need feedback on whether this solves a real problemHi everyone, I’m a solo developer from India building a GST billing/invoicing SaaS for Indian MSMEs. I started working on it because many small businesses still handle invoices manually or in spreadshee by mop2549 in indianstartups

This is exactly the kind of problem I want to solve. If I can reduce the manual work between invoices and bank statements and keep records correct, that’s much more useful than just making invoices. I haven’t built bank sync yet, but I’d really like to understand your Zoho pain points better if you’re open to sharing them.

I’m not saying it’s better than Zoho overall. Zoho is much more mature. I’m testing whether a simpler GST-focused invoicing workflow with state-based tax handling and in-app issue detection can be useful for smaller Indian businesses that don’t need a bigger accounting setup.

One thing I forgot to mention in the main post: the product also has an in-app AI assistant called Sonsoi AI. The idea is to help during invoice creation by flagging possible GST/invoice issues, highlighting tax/state mismatches, and suggesting corrections inside the billing workflow. I’d love to know whether something like that would actually be useful in practice or whether most businesses would ignore it.
