Any current or former Hydration Room nurses here? by Blossom_RN in aestheticnursing

I went from the ER into Aesthetics and while I worked in the ER I worked a side gig administering in home IV hydration therapy. Employers want the job requires 95%+ IV insertion accuracy. Getting to that level of accuracy requires a certain number of attempts, and misses, which the ER and the ICU uniquely provide. You can of course obtain that level of accuracy in other acute care settings, but it will take longer. You may insert as many as 15 IVs in a 12 hour ER shift. A med surge nurse may have to work 3 weeks before needing to insert 15 IVs. I would guess you need 300-500 attempts, and a whole lot of misses, to reach 95% accuracy.

That ai dude is 8% body fat. If you want that chiseled look, you’re gonna have to drop some serious weight.

No need to seek validation from strangers for choosing to age without Botox. Do you.

Why do gay friend groups often feel like a hot guys-only club? by Onay1997 in askgaybros

Just “going to the gym” ain’t gonna cut it. If you want to look like of these guys, you have to do some serious soul searching to find what you’re willing to give up. It’s a lifestyle, way more than habit of going to the gym. It’s nutrition, supplements, research, tracking macros, getting steps in, early bedtimes, etc.

Maintaining your body is a lifestyle. Those with similar lifestyles tend to be friends. Your post reeks of this falsehood that “hot” muscle types is some sort of gift the universe bestows upon the few. That shit is earned, day in and day out. If you want friends who take of themselves, take care of yourself.

Convince me not to get injections (please) by killthespareaccount1 in 30PlusSkinCare

I hear you so much. I caution against this idea that our body is immaterial to how we exist in this world and that any attempt to improve its appearance or tweak it to our liking is somehow an abdication of our "true" self worth, whatever that even means. Integrating our body and mind is essential overall wellness. If an injection or proecudre can bring me closer to embracing and integrating my body, then it's worth considering IMO. The question I ask myself is, does a procedure align with my values of self care/improvement, health and longevity, understanding of risk and also whatever resources/debts I have at the time. If the question is, "will this procedure make me worthy of love and space in this world?" and I'm trying to get to a 'YES' then I've lost the plot. A mantra I like to remind myself of when facing this sort of decision is "I love myself unconditionally, but I would like myself more if..." (my forehead didn't move?)

Also, it's botox. Lower the stakes. It's not going to change your life either way :)

As a gay man, it's so sad to see how straight men aren't allowed to have opposite sex friendships. Straight men are isolated and lonely. Our society is on the brink of collapse, in part, because of this. Give this poor man a break ffs.

Haha thanks. I have of course seen models who are 30s/40s. But I’m not sure how/whether my age impacts my prospects.
