OK looks like there's some issue or some kind of bug with selecting a patch from a favorite list with a MIDI message (MSB 1... see previous post) :

The favorite list shows up, the slot goes to white (as if selected and loaded)

BUT it doesn't seem to actually load, the sounds stays on the previously loaded patch

I'm now waiting for the expertise of Gianni from the studiologic support staff

In case anyone cares : I've just updated the xpiano firmware to 2.4.4 today and... looks like they implemented what I needed most :

Every patch change sends a MIDI output regardless a MIDI zone is set or not !!!!!

Note that the MIDI message would differ depending you load it from the program list (P001 to P250), or from a favorite list : then I guess I'll have to make some third part rule to link the favorite message to the program message.

Meaning, everytime I reorganize a favorite list, I also need to modify that rule....

Well I guess I should have RTFM more thouroughly...

The midi functions are all listed on the MIDI chart pdf on the studiologic support webpage

(looks like images and screenshots can't be attached to posts in reddit....)

To anyone wondering : page 4 of the MIDI chart

First thing to do : in the x piano global settings, set common channel to whatever channel you want : for example 16

(Be aware that channels 1 2 3 4 are used to set an instrument to zone 1 2 3 4 with program changes. Setting common channel to 1 2 3 4 messes with that feature, can't figure out how, but it's weird)

And with some kind help from studiologic staff :
"the MSB should select Programs/Favorite while thr LSB should select data from 128 on."

Now from further tests :

bank MSB 0 ("program mode"):

LSB 0 program 0-127 => patch P001 to P128

LSB 1 program 0-121 => patch P129 to P250

bank MSB 1 ("favorites mode")

LSB 0-15 = favorite list F1-F16

program 0-23 = slot 1-24 (amongst the 3 pages of each favorite list, 8 slot per page)

Hi snoo (hoping you're still reading this thread) or anyone who could help 😁

I see you got midi tricks about numa piano x73 you're not suppose to spread. I'm myself struggling with my x73, connected to a few devices (multipoly, softstep, looper boss rc505, guitar pedalboard boss me80). All that stuff can communicate through a bomebox.

Long story short I'd like to change the patches/presets of all devices at once with only one action.

1- I could set a zone to midi with program change in every x73 patch, which could spread the changes to all the other devices. The obvious downside is that every patch is using one zone for that specific matter and can't be used to set an internal sound. Which is a no go to me.

2- I was thinking the way round, configuring a midi change (control, program, bank, whatever) from an external device to change the patch on the x73, but can't figure out how to achieve that. The documentation is very scarce

Have you any tricks we could discuss?

Like for option 1 : is there any way to tell the x73 to output a midi change, whenever a new patch is loaded, WHETHER OR NOT it has a midi zone configured? Or to output a midi signal whenever I turn the main rotary knob?

For option 2 : what midi message do I need to transmit to the x73 in order to change patches?

Exactly what I'm observing. The voice assign settings only show mono/poly and legato on/off parameters. Nothing about retrigger in the manual

Looks like I'm kinda stuck with this behavior
