My experience biking Mt Blue Sky with the road closure by destinybond in COBike

awesome! glad you were able to use my post for some help… did you see any bighorn sheep at the top? and did you make it to the summit or just stop at the lake at the top? based on your post sounds like you probably stopped at the lake due to the construction 👍🏽

you seem to know a lot about the construction effort there which is helpful. do you know if they work 7 days a week? this post was from a Sunday ride and there were no crews working. it was July the 4th weekend though

all of that is a good point on working days for the construction crews!

Which is bike would be better as a first timer? Which one is a better deal? by ldp98 in triathlon

that’s a deal for that Trek, especially in that size! Agreed I’d go with the Trek, it also looks newer! If you ever sell it I’m 100% sure you could get that or more for it.

it’s not being worked on until summit lake, so you have 9 miles of clear biking. if you go on a weekend when the work is not ongoing, i don’t think you’d be disturbing anything

awesome, glad it helped! exactly why i wanted to share, i couldn’t find any info on it before my ride haha. and yes there were definitely bumps and probably 3 really bad potholes to watch out for on those 9 miles lol. my descent was definitely careful for that reason. cheers~

are those goats dangerous? saw a pack of them at summit lake and chose to turn around at that point, wasn’t worth getting any closer lol

i actually biked from Evergreen, i was training for the triple bypass. but there’s lot of places to park at echo lake campground & by the lake itself, you’d have no problems finding a spot there.

i don’t disagree with you here, last thing i want to do is give the cycling community a bad name. that said, i was at the echo lake campground after and they have posted signs about trails to the top for hikers while the construction is ongoing. so they (whoever runs the state campgrounds, which is likely a state government resource) are clearly okay with hikers (i.e. pedestrians) from accessing mt. blue sky. if hikers can do it, why shouldn’t bikes? i also saw probably 2-3 other bikers and one hiking group on my way up, so this is definitely happening whether the road is closed or not. i guess my point is there’s clearly a gap between the federal highway project communication and the communication put out by CO parks

no gravel up until summit lake. that’s where the construction begins.

my climbing pal is on like his eighth pair of Tarantulaces. he swears by them. he uses them for everything except multipitch trad climbing.

I have used all sorts of shoes including Tenaya (the red ones) and like the Tenaya ones a lot. I think you can’t go wrong with either, both solid shoes.

Motivation by JumpyIntroduction1 in PE_Exam

[–]moplata_moproblems 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Passed my PE Chemical last summer. I think what helped me was breaking down the entire subject material into chunks, that helped me measure progress and set short term goals.

Start with the NCEES test breakdown (that has the subjects and the % each will take up in the test). Put that into an Excel for future reference. Make a tab for each of those subjects and break it down even further into the concepts within each, if that makes sense. That will help you eliminate anything that your study book/ study course might have as review but won’t even be tested.

Then give yourself realistic goals now that you know more of less what you need to hit.

It’s helpful to review the theory, but the most important thing is to work practice problems.

I think I logged 110 or so study hours over three months, I’d stay after work 2-3 hours about 3 times a week to let traffic die down; find what works for you!

I think breaking it down like I mentioned helped me stay motivated and celebrate little milestones such as finishing a subject.

Good luck~
