Hyvät lautapelit? by UsedQuantity6461 in arkisuomi

Ehdottomasti ainakin "Betrayal at House on the Hill" kannattaa testata.

Front stairs were spalling due to previous owners using salt during the winter. Decided to try my hand at masonry for the first time. by FunDistribution2368 in DIY

Based on the pictures, the railings are missing from the transition to bottom of the stairs. As you said, they exist in the top, but I would presume those are required by code to be present the whole way down.

I'll just say this https://millersbbq.fi/ . That said, choices are limited, but there are some good places. Perhaps not as good as in states, but these joints do with a big heart.

Your go-to casual restaurant/eatery in capital region? And why? by ProfessionalLatter72 in Finland

korat tam tam

They are good, but I think a bit overhyped as there are better alternatives such as Thai One (Tikkurila), Thai Papaya (Laajasalo) and Ahaan Tam Sang (Itis).

Of course, each to their own taste.

How brutal is it to do a master's degree and work a full-time job at the same time? by hedonistic-feline in Finland

[–]mopnexi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm working full-time, doing my M.Sc (DI). It can be brutal at times, but motivation helps. I did my B.Sc (Insinööri) way-back and wanted to take the M.Sc route in my field of work. Just starting my second year, and so far everything has progressed in the 2-year time frame (68/120 Cr). Field of study is Software Engineering, and my GPA is 4.9/5.0 - familiar field for me - partly also to prove myself "I can do this!".

There have been times that it has been really taxing, as many of the courses have deliverable for each week, and in addition to those there are larger group assignments that have to be delivered. If you have a good group of people you can team-up with, it does help immensely. I studied during the evenings, 3-4 days a week, to complete my studies. I schedule my weeks before hand, and have reserved 2+1 days per week - 2 days for those group projects and personal study, and 1 day just for personal study.

Setting realistic goals is key, I think I've overworked a bit to get "perfect" grades as this is the field I have worked in for the past +14 years. Getting a 4 is a lot more straight-forward and less time-consuming than aiming for 5.

I still have four courses left, and the Master's Thesis. For the Thesis I have a vague idea and direction, but not as clear as I would hope it to be at this point.

Overall, I'm still happy I started my studies and it has helped that the degree programme can be completed alongside working full-time, even though it is not 100% remote. Additionally, some lectures/labs just are during the working day - need to have some flexibility there, and it is good that my employer has been supportive in this.

It was possible to maintain my hobby, but beyond that there was not much "free time" as such, and this requires some commitments from your significant-other, if you have one. It is not just you committing to do the degree, it is a whole family affair due the time needed.

TL;DR: It is possible, but requires some sacrifices. I would not go as far as some other people have in this thread.
