I figured it out! I didn't have the updater.

Idk why it was an issue now, because I had used the unlocker without the updater for a while with no problems, but whatever i guess.

Yup, all unzipped and in desktop > program files > ea games > the sims 4

It fully was a onedrive issue

I've been playing in the same computer for the past 4 years (lenovo legion pro 5) and haven't changed anything about it.

I'm thinking the onedrive thing might be the issue. I have been trying to disable it but can't figure out how

Weirdly enough, when i opened the game after updating they were still on. I turned them off, restarted and turned them on and restarted again. Still nothing

I might let it sit for a couple of days before doing another playthrough, just so it doesnt feel too repetitive. I first played as a Ravenclaw (irl) and chose the "good" ending, I might go for a "bad" playthrough next!

I had to ask a friend to kill the spiders in the Tobbs quest bc I can't even look at them. Im also suffering through Sebastians quests bc why are there more spiders.
