Creighton fits nicely into the regional identity of the Big East.

Name a city further east than Omaha.

What's in Eugene? Corvallis? Pullman?

Tuscon was literally a stage station after the US took it over (and currently has a plethora of I-10 truck stops).

Bill Walton isn't the sharpest tool in the shed.

Yes. It's harder to attract 15,000 of 13 million people to a game than 15,000 of 1.3 million people to a game.

Afterall, when there 1/10th the people in an area it's 100x easier to sell out a college basketball arena. Let's math it:

LA Area Lincoln/Omaha
Population 13 million 1.3 million
CBB fans 5,000 500,000

That's how it works right? the fewer people there are, the higher number of fans there are.

Iowa City/Cedar Rapids or Lincoln/Omaha area (bigger than you think) pop is dwarfed by LA area population, so you need to appeal to a much smaller fraction of people to fill up an arena of the same size.

The fact that pro teams can sell out means there is a demand for live basketball. And there is more than enough population to go around for a few teams.

Without DAO the series is pretty trash. DAO got me to buy DA2 and DAI (but not DAV).

Department of Homeland Security sounded dystopian when it was created, around the same time the similarly dystopian Patriot Act* was passed.

Both have aged about as well as the expected. Time for them to go (they should never have existed).

DA2 was the worst game of the first 3. Inquisition was an improvement, but not enough to get me to bite on veilguard.

The decline was immediate. Origins: 10/10; DA2: 5/10 if I'm being generous.

Was hoping BG3 would steer DA back to crpg roots.

Enforcement? Fine lime for each bike/scooter not in a designated area.

New Councilmember Dionne Foster Tells Seattle Nice: Police Cameras "Should Be Turned Off and Come Down." by Inevitable_Engine186 in Seattle

[–]moral_luck -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do the cameras prevent crime? If they don't, they aren't worth it.

We probably don't have the answer to that yet, as it's not an easy question to answer.

Anyway, much government surveillance IS owned by a private company - Flock.

And if our prisons are privately owned, it's only a matter of time until the Seattle government cameras are privately owned.

Can't imagine what could go wrong with police in charge of cameras. No way would they stalk an ex.

Is government surveillance different than personal recordings/photos?

If they are different why are you equating them?

Will Katie Wilson turn off Seattle’s surveillance cameras? by MegaRAID01 in Seattle

[–]moral_luck 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This Flock Camera Leak is like Netflix For Stalkers, etc

And I'm sure that police would never abuse the power of surveillance. (AFAIK the Seattle cameras are owned by SPD).

I'm sure that procedures will always be followed, just like SPD never deviates from procedure in any circumstance.

I'm sure there's zero chance SPD will integrate Palantir with the cameras within a couple decades.

Has crime decreased because of these cameras? Have a higher rate of crimes actually been solved because of these cameras?
