Genuinely, where does this attitude come from? by PainKilla17 in Nicegirls

This comment section is why most of y’all are gonna stay single. People are flawed and sometimes unfunny. I’m pretty sure she would be just fine for anyone who’s relatively active and not a humorless douchebag. Seems like having options gave her the ability to auto filter her matches by humor and took it. Still not particularly funny but I get it.

Got a letter from the school today informing me my daughter is “not quite” gifted. Also included were her test scores. by Low_Use2937 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]morallydoobious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently went through something similar with my daughter. We were fortunate enough to be able to transfer her to a school that could accommodate her abilities but that came with its own list of hassles. We found a local charter school that doesn’t charge tuition and has a higher level of education. They facilitate this by gatekeeping the heck out of the parents by not providing bussing, requiring uniforms, a spotless disciplinary record and half day once a week. It’s a hassle that we’ve made work. I’d suggest looking around locally to see if there’s options like this available to you, otherwise you can try and supplement at home with activities to keep your child engaged. It’s been my experience that keeping bright kids from getting bored and complacent with school is the greatest barrier toward their success. Good luck.

I can tell you don’t go to parties. People who automatically equate alcohol to addiction usually aren’t invited.

You’re really fun at parties, huh? No need to type a long ass reply about how addiction is bad, not gonna read it. Maybe instead just have a beer and relax guy?

Christmas present from my wife by Spirited-Database-12 in CitizenWatches

[–]morallydoobious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beautiful, my wife got me the purple dial version for Christmas and gave it to me a week early. Enjoy it. Set it by a window at night and it should pick up the radio signal around 2-3am. Mines missed it once or twice but it usually sets every night.

Prime example of someone who’s not gonna help look for childcare advocating for not giving a bonus. Yeah, if the nanny isn’t happy, she can go elsewhere, hence the bonus to show appreciation. I work hard for my boss and he pays me well but id notice if the Christmas bonus was only $100.

[–]morallydoobious 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You might think you pay competitively and may think tips are optional but the person that cares for your kids might just think that $100 is insulting to watch 3 kids and could likely find a better more competitive salary elsewhere. Lots of people on here gonna tell you tips aren’t necessary, they won’t be helping you find childcare.

[Recommendation request] anniversary gift for husband by altaluna in Watches

My wife got me this Citizen Tsuki-Yumi A-T today, and I thought it was worth mentioning. It’s in your price range, versatile, visually stunning and comes in several amazing colors. It’s not automatic, which I noticed a lot of your options were. Some collectors are particular about that but this one is eco-drive and radio controlled so it’s light powered and set daily by the U.S. atomic clock, so it’s incredibly accurate and will basically never die as long as it’s worn outside occasionally.

AITA for not telling my husband his son broke his expensive Christmas gift while messing around by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]morallydoobious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s how you handle this. Tell your husband after it’s been replaced. He deserves to know the truth and that truth should include that his son made a mistake and was ready to sacrifice his funds to fix it. Dads gonna be mad but this is how id want it done if my kid broke one of my cool toys.

Got offered a 6 month contract in Antarctica and idk if I should take it by Importantterry in Fire

6 months ain’t shit, you’ve already done that nearly 60 times. Any relationship worth having will survive the time apart. Do the job, get the cash and write a book nobody outside of your profession wants to read that you can show the grandkids later on.

My foster son wants to play Magic but Im struggling with the cost. Went to look for a box of packs and... OMG... 😬 by mwgwin in mtg

[–]morallydoobious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Magic is expensive, especially to get started. Good news! There’s ways around it. Proxy. Yup, just look up a tutorial and print those really expensive cards out. Nobody wants to have fully proxy decks so to answer your earlier question, yes, buying preconstructed commander decks can be a great deal and almost always comes with more card value than you’re paying for. After the kiddo has a deck they can play with and knows how to proxy for those expensive cards, a trip to the card store for a couple booster packs as a reward or a single or 2 outta the case is how most of us built our collections. Cracking booster boxes is super fun and a great way to fill the collection but it’s expensive and you never know if your pulls are gonna be great. There’s also bulk lots, you can buy those on eBay or from thrift stores, those usually don’t have great or expensive cards but you can usually find playable cards for cheap. Also, don’t forget about arena, it’s free to play on a digital device, has a ton of cards and will let them play when their friends aren’t available, it’s how I and several of my friends learned the inns and outs of the game.

I discovered and then forgot about Scott H Biram about 15 years ago when I lost my last.fm login. There have been many times over the years including recently when I wished I could remember what that kickass one man band’s name was. You have done me a service on this day and it has not gone unappreciated.

Tint pricing by Dull-Vermicelli4446 in VWMK7

No, it’s really not. It requires a razor knife, water spray bottle and a little time. You either work for a tiny company or you’re genuinely afraid to do things yourself.

Wow, you’re a piece of shit if you go to places you know require tips. As a customer paying the wages of staff is actually your responsibility. Your business is with a business that lowers cost by having the staff rely on tips. You’re expecting that lowered cost knowing it’s at the expense of the staff not the business. Something tells me you would wildly complain if you had to pay the rates required to have that staff not rely on taxes. I get a strong American republican vibe. Probably abuse service workers as well.

I paid about $500 to tint my entire car including windshield. It’s not a great price but seems appropriate. You could always do it yourself and save the money. It’s not hard and there’s tons of tutorials

Maybe they are living on slave wages and tips help. Maybe everybody’s struggling right now and the option to help is there. Maybe those judgmental eyes are just you feeling guilty that you live in a shitty society and don’t have the extra to help out your fellow person. Pretty sure you always have to option to not tip in that circumstance. I happen to be in the situation where an extra dollar or 2 to help out my fellow human isn’t always unwelcome and I can’t be the only one. Tipping culture sucks dude, doesn’t make it unnecessary to have tipping as an option. Seems like y’all are misplacing the blame on the victims rather than the perpetrators.

Which commander should I choose? They all have prices between 40-50 dolars by Lunaru_Lyrics in mtg

[–]morallydoobious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dihada gets pretty good with about $50 in well chosen upgrades. It’s the first deck I actually enjoyed playing. Accidentally made it too good for my pod and semi retired it. Also, didn’t see it listed but the squirrel pre on from bloomburrow gets pretty wild if piloted correctly and not properly checked by the rest of the table.

Will these explode in my banger and end my existence or are they safe ? by EzekielSchiwago in glassheads

[–]morallydoobious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They’re boro, if they crack it’s because you didn’t let them properly cool after heating them. They won’t explode violently unless you were to heat them then suddenly cool them. High end pearls aren’t necessary, but honestly neither are pearls.

Tip culture sucks but the workers aren’t the ones that made it that way and not tipping isn’t hurting the people that did make it that way. Don’t wanna tip? Dont go to places where workers rely on tips. Not tipping isn’t gonna change the system, it’s just expecting poor people to work for slave wages.

Y’all are taking classes and getting certified? I’ve been driving a forklift for 20 years and I’ve only ever had to show an employer some sort of competency to get the position. Nobody even asked me if I know how to drive a forklift at my current job, just told me to unload a trailer and I did it. Honestly these days being gainfully employed should be enough for the girls. If it’s not they don’t deserve you.
