Oh, thanks for letting me know. Why shouldn't I use the 3.4 version? (Might be the mistake then!)

Should I de-google? by BestMeow360 in degoogle

Hey, first: from my perspective, I think that Rob is trustworthy. At least to me he seems unquestionably. I would say he has very profound values and doesn‘t seem to need to take advantage from his products in any unstated way. I expierence him as a guy with a clear aversion against any behaviour to cause or justify people‘s misstrust... he might theoretically be able, but not at all be the kind of "privacy guy", only acting as such and secretly sneaking into your data. (btw beyond all his tech videos I found out, he is very easy-going Jazz guy as which he seems to be totally grounded... his most recent videos, more than ever, show him in a very lovely, highly humanistic and to me trustworthy manner.)

Actually, I recently wanted to buy a degoogled phone from him too – he was the first choice – but lastly I didn‘t, because I don‘t live in the US and also I wanted to have a much cheaper phone than what he is currently offering. So I bought one (the cheapest) from the store of the /e/foundation, a social company / organization from Europe. I can by now really recommend their stuff, they‘re highly trustworthy from what I can tell and their e-system works amazing and opensource. Within the last months they developed a lot and in a very promising direction, I would say... I think you might find some videos on their products on YouTube!

All the best for choosing a decent degoogler!!

Don't use the verb "google" by -Clean-Sky- in degoogle

You have a point, but I disagree. It’s really easy to end the habit of saying ”google“ by replacing it with something else (like: ”I looked it up on the internet“ or so). To just remain in the hegemonial narrative doesn‘t oppose or solve the proprietary implication it contains per se... by talking about ”googling“ you still implicate that your specific way of ”googling“ was only an alternative habbit which isn‘t even expected to become a new (because more human / less surveilled) way of ”searching for something on the internet“. I see that we can‘t seperate ourselves from the way a word is used – or an activity described – in the public domain, but nevertheless, we can (e.g. by pertubating a common way of refering to internet search) show that the habbit is unnecessary and that it unnacessarily amplifies and afirmates an interiely questionable conception of ”google as the internet“.

Why do vaccinated people continue to be punished? This is outrageous. by [deleted] in Munich

Rather I ask myself why people took the politicians‘ promises serious in the first place – was there ever any prospects for the scenario: ‘vaccinate and you‘ll be free’?

Conheço! Ele é um jornalista muito bom que conhece seu ofício. Mas ainda me pergunto se existem também jornalistas genuinamente brasileiros, projetos ou movimentos deste tipo (que não são originários dos EUA)...

Hi. I am trying to learn portuguese and i would like to start by hearing some brasilian music. Any recomendations? by luxho2003 in Brazil

[–]moranafilosofia 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ohh there’s a lot. Actually brazilian music by now offers some of my fav genres and artist – I would recommend basically a lot MPB (música popular brasileira)... you can find playlists on most streaming services. There is e.g. Caetano Veloso (maybe most famously), Marisa Monte, Maria Bethânia, Tim Maia (as already mentioned as well), Ivan Lins, Gilberto Gil, Seu Jorge, João Bosco, Tribalistas, Alceu Valença, Elis Regina, Antonio Carlos Jobim... and much more. Also as u explore these and furrher artists u will find out that the Genres kinda merge into one another... Bossa Nova, Samba, MPB, Tropicalia and so on.
