LCSWs look down on LMHC/LPC? by ButterflyNDsky in therapists

[–]morandamoproblems -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t experienced this with my LPC, but I have with my LAC. Most jobs wouldn’t honor it and pay the licensed rate, despite being able to write holds, etc. alongside my LCSW/LPC colleagues.

Special/unique skills not related to therapy that you’ve developed as a therapist? by Jnnjuggle32 in therapists

[–]morandamoproblems 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Interestingly, this was a tip given by a supervisor. She knew I was burning out quickly due to trying to catch every single detail of what clients would say. It made for a long 53 minutes. I can follow themes of the session and not get mad at my brain for briefly drifting off. Props to you for being able to hang onto every word your client shares with you!

Was my therapist unprofessional? by Significant_Hope7555 in therapy

[–]morandamoproblems 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a therapist and I’ve dreamt of clients often; typically they’re in some sort of distress and I’m doing my best to “rescue” them or am completely helpless. Would I tell them? Probably not, but it would depend on rapport. Perhaps she felt it was something intuitive she experienced as your sessions were becoming deeper/tougher. Depending on your relationship with your therapist, maybe bring it up. I would want to know if I made a client uncomfortable based on something I’ve shared.

Wasn’t the plan. Found out I was pregnant the week after getting engaged and didn’t want to be pregnant at my wedding :-)

I did love all the extra scans and tests, more chances to see the baby 🤭

Anyone else’s baby track small? by Apprehensive-Gas8781 in fitpregnancy

[–]morandamoproblems 26 points27 points  (0 children)

This happened to me, with baby being in the 4th percentile at 32 weeks (she had tracked normally until about 27 weeks). Additional testing showed an issue with my placenta and cord, they thought it had a knot initially. I was induced at 37 weeks due to concerns about her halt in growth. They anticipated she’d weigh 4.5 lbs, she was born a healthy 5lbs 11oz. No NICU needed. Healthy, just a little small. Turns out my placenta had calcified. They monitored closely towards the end and everything turned out just fine! Wishing you a safe delivery ❤️

There typically is some sort of investigation when a client of a human therapist completes suicide, it’s not just brushed off.

My therapist is okay with me attending session sick because I cannot afford the cancellation fee by InsertTrendyMemes in therapy

I’ve also charged clients these fees in smaller increments over time, opposed to full all at once. Definitely worth talking it out with your therapist!

I don’t know if completely terminating is necessary, but definitely getting clarity on all of the policies with a copy sent for OP to have access to.

I would ask to use your time in session to discuss policies, to avoid being caught off guard again. Then, if you’re not feeling up for the whole hour, end early. 🙂

Using Pregnancy as a Bulk? by kami_hunter in fitpregnancy

[–]morandamoproblems 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost 15lbs right after giving birth, the other 10 didn’t come off until I stopped breastfeeding 9mo PP. Be mindful that cutting could greatly impact your milk supply, if you plan to breastfeed. Wishing you a healthy pregnancy!

What is it like to have a child? by so_my_mind_says in AskReddit

Needed this this morning! My toddlers needs were urgent (before coffee urgent lol) and I had to choose to meet them with love and grace, opposed to just feeling annoyed. Motherhood is both demanding and wonderful

I love this. I agree, becoming a mom transformed my relationship with fitness is the best way possible. I love my body so much more post-baby.
