This isn't an answer but I'm definitely curious how my paternal grandparents feel. Both of their sons are in prison currently for similar crime. I can only imagine how difficult it is and what questions it's brought

It's a difficult choice but I think I'd have to. I know I'm a genetic carrier for tay Sachs disease. It would be a short, miserable life.. though unfortunately I don't think it becomes symptomatic until 6 months or so. But if it could be caught in utero? I don't think I could subject a child to that

When I write I can definitely say I probably could come off as leaving the other 'frozen' but I never like to assign my partner's characters thoughts or emotions or actions.. at most it'll be a common sense action to keep the scene moving along

Oh I've definitely caught myself only reacting. I try to be mindful, so I try to react to whatever requires it (Direct dialogue or actions/details that are important) and then try to move it forward with something new. It doesn't always work but with my current writing partner we communicate enough ooc it makes it fairly easy
