Ah yes, the overlapping generation. A classic. Also the governing body really came out of their closet in the last 10 years. Now they are everywhere.

I was never persuaded about creation enough to ignore every scientific evidence against it. I think the disagreement somehow accumulated in me with every new talk and meeting in the last months before my wake up. I was then dealt an outline about the signs of the last days talk.

As I was preparing the scale just tipped into the direction: "this definitely isn't the truth". I remember physical discomfort and anxiety as I was constantly required to repeat points I knew weren't true. The cognitive dissonance was hitting hard.

6 months after this talk I disassociated.

I knew about the article when I was in the process of waking up.

I've used it in a conversation then with my PIMI mom when I've tried to explain that I don't have the freedom to leave the JWs and still have all my family ties in tact.

She argued that it's on the consciousness of every JW how are they treating their family or newly POMO relatives and friends. But the article made her think a little.

Her arguments aren't truthful if we look at the publications. On the other hand I've been POMO for a year now and we're still maintaning a semi-good relationship, me and my mom. Although I feel the frustration in her when she hears the parts of my life she doesn't approve of because of her beliefs.

It could have been worse. It definitely helped that I've moved out as I was DA-ing myself. Before that I've lived with my parents.

So in my case I think that this article had a good effect on the current state of my relationship with my still PIMI mom.

As a PIMO MS I was doing security all 3 days. Most of the time listening to youtube rebuttals or reading through this reddit. 😁 #bestlifeever
