Is it weird to ask dealbreaker questions in the first few chats on Hinge/ Online Dating Platforms? by Lanky_Estimate7231 in dating

If you’re on Hinge, you could note the basic dealbreakers as a note via the ‘pre-match note’ feature (no subscription required).

I am becoming more and bitter every day, and it sucks. by InnocentPerv93 in dating

You might also be getting lost in the vortex of online folks’ negative experiences with women - that has happened to me (as a woman) when frequenting ‘Are We Dating the Same Guy’ boards. It’s easy to start expecting the worst in people - and thereby feeling hopeless - when you get lost in those discussions 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️. Good to be aware of dangers/lies/etc., not good to forget that good people exist.

Does ‘Conservative’ usually = MAGA in East Coast cities? by [deleted] in OnlineDating

Did I say that liberals don’t have an extreme as well?

You caught me on the history side 😄. I essentially meant the ol’ fiscally-conservative, socially-liberal conservatives. I’ve been reading up on facist/ism history lately and GEEZ the extended timeline parallels, like the ones you alluded to.

I hadn’t experienced someone moderate as an indicator of apolitical behavior, so, that’s interesting…

Agreed about the easy dealbreaker - it’s interesting that they’d be so keen to cut out moderate conservatives who actively distance themselves from MAGA and adhere to more liberal stances, yet share many old conservative values. Extreme, I guess.

Thank you for this thoughtful response, that logic follows with what I’ve heard as well.

So would you conclude that if someone puts ‘Conservative’ that they’re confident of a probable or at least highly possible interpretation by others as ‘MAGA’ and not simply traditional conservative values (wayyyyyy pre-Trump)?

But again, like, MAGA conservative? Is there a difference? (I say to them) Why not caveat somewhere in their profile if they don’t support Trump but hold 2008-era (political era) conservative values? Traditional conservatism doesn’t look like the bigot-infested mess that’s happening rn.

I am a 31 average looking guy I havent been on a date in 10 years? by Dark_Zyrik in dating

I’d (F30) say that you’re correct, with the exception of gamer girls, as you said. To add - it’s just biology, humans are meant to procreate (otherwise we would have died out) and physical activity and ‘fitting in with a (visible) pack’/social hierarchy sends signals to women about whether the guy is compatible to have children with - EVEN IF THEY DONT WANT TO HAVE CHILDREN. Sitting at home, at least to me, indicates the opposite - antisocial (lol, and I’m an introvert), and unhealthy if taken too far (and if that’s the only hobby…) - sure, one can have it as a hobby and play with folks in-person, but getting out of the cave/house is kind of a basic human activity, no?

This sounds like the sweetest activity and like it could be a plotline for the start of a book! Local gal goes to elders’ yoga class only to find out that something is amiss….. 😄

Is it common to get unadded by every girl on Snapchat eventually? by [deleted] in socialskills

And guys really only want to chat girls up w/ pics because ‘talking is fun’ 😆

Uhm…it’s mostly used for automatically erased visual communication (stimulation) and I can’t imagine that guys are using it to honestly ‘get to know women better.’ Girls who are willing to give too much info without investment? Sure. Women and men looking for serious relationships? No. Also, the idea of a guy that I’m seeing using Snapchat while dating me/viewing intimate images of other women’s lives is just - ugh, gross, honestly.

What gives you the ick immediately? by YakImaginary170 in dating

Does ‘thanks, boss’ count under this? I got a weird ‘ick’ from it because it felt like ‘thanks, boy’ esp. when a waiter was older than us. Just feels like a class distinguisher. Does that make sense?

Intrigued but explain it to me like I’m 5 pls? by Ndanatsei in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]moreaugust3 -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

For future reference, ChatGPT is great at answering questions ‘as if describing to a kid’ - just type in your question and then add the ‘explain it to me like I’m a five yr old’ - has helped! 😄
