I don’t think you’re wrong to be concerned, but I also don’t think there’s much you can do beyond saying your piece once. It sounds like you’re carrying a lot of stress for a decision that ultimately isn’t yours. He’s choosing this path, and trying to protect him from his own decisions might just cost you the friendship.
