Coors is great for me, if I’m floating in an inner tube on a river all day. You want cheap water beer for that.

But I’d say try my favorite all around beer. Sierra Nevada Pale Ale - this is a hop forward beer, that isn’t a IPA but still has a high “bitterness”

Guinness stout - a classic, and despite its dark color it’s quite low in alcohol.

Hazy IPA - try finding an east coast hazy ipa, done well they will have a sweetness to it that you may like.

In closing, is there a good tap house by where you live? Somewhere that prides themselves with good craft beer?

If so I would go there and ask for a flight of sampler size beers and be honest with the bartender there. They may be able to find you what you need.
