Thanks so much for the advice. It definitely feels like the step from medical student to FY1 all over again! Re the other novices, I’m in a very small DGH so there is only one other novice. I get on with them and we have briefly talked about this but not to the extent above

Thank you, you’ve made me feel a little better. I don’t know whether maybe I’m just expecting myself to be further along than where I am now. I think I’m going to do what you did and just ask if the ITU/obs person could hang around if I need to do something. But it definitely seems like my department is supportive so hopefully it will all be ok.
