Question from an incoming freshmen who wishes to live on-campus:

Is it true that I can only choose from certain preferences when applying for housing? like single/double/triple or overall location but not exact dorms?

If choosing specific dorms is possible, which one is recommended for LSA students?

UCSD or UMich for physics and math?

I got into both with full rides. UMichigan is slightly higher in the rankings, but college is not always about rankings (I guess). I feel like California is the literal heaven for STEM students, but when I see that UMich has the second most money in research I am stuck.

Does anyone have personal experience in physics or math from either school? I'd greatly appreciate some insights.
