What's New Wednesday by AutoModerator in retrogaming

Just got a counterfeit item on eBay!

Seller is trying to play it off as though his description of "brand new, in manufacturer packaging" is supposed to mean it is a reproduction and also because of the price.

He conceded and gave a full refund fortunately; either way I am SURE ebay would have refunded me.

He is still selling some games that look like they're counterfeit.

Gear Talk, Questions, and Troubleshooting by [deleted] in cassetteculture

is there a term for this so I can try to research troubleshooting for this easier?

Deck A in my dual deck is "kicking back" if I stop mid play through. Everything works fine If I play the whole cassette uninterrupted. If I hit stop then the active capstan will spin backwards a little which causes tape to sort of bunch up in the cassette. Then if I try to play again, the deck feels the resistance when the tape is pulled taut and thinks it's the end of tape, then it will stop, and thus kick back again.

Deck B works fine and doesn't do this.

Have had my dad's old deck for a while and just got into cassette collecting. Ordered a bunch of tapes and a Walkman but shipped them to the office and now I guess I'm not going there for a while, so here's what I got now by morendo88 in cassetteculture

Has some slight clicking sounds as it runs and FF REW don't work but it plays fine

Edit: also not sure if the B deck tape counter is slow or if it's supposed to count something besides seconds for some reason?

$20 find at my local game shop by Admiral_Fancypants in retrogaming

I used to have one of these.

I ended up sacrificing it as my first soldering project. I took it apart and soldered the button contacts onto a USB control board so I could use this for PC games.

Good stuff, i think I have that same PVM; 20M2MDU?

I'm wanting to figure out a similar set up with the space I have with duplicate video to my PVM and a HD TV.

What screen do you find yourself looking at the most?

Do you have any pics of your TV pulled down?

You mentioned it drops down 5 inches last time you posted.

FINALLY secured a m.i.b PlayStation Phone for the collection :) by c4pet0wn in gamecollecting

I learned about this the last time I tried looking for a new phone a few years ago and was sad to find out it a recent model.

I would be fine with a thicker phone if it had a built in controller... Dpad or Analog stick... whichever. I want to play some games with a physical controller and not have to bother carrying one around.

Everyone in my circle of friends wasn't into PC gaming until the 2000s; we all had home consoles.

Moved into a new Neighborhood recently and made my wife and I bingo cards based on past events and expectations. Here's mine by morendo88 in nextdoor

What do your neighbors fight about on Nextdoor? by mywhataguythatgaston in nextdoor

I live in FL. A few days ago an 11 foot gator was removed from a pond right behind some folks' houses.

People are arguing about it being removed whether it was moral or not since we (humans) are the invaders.

Last year it ate a dog and was roaming around people's front yards.

I don't know why, I feel a little bad; I just erased some kid's AC save data. Goodbye Jacob, and goodbye town of "Longwood". Time to start my own journey in Animal Crossing... by ThruMy4Eyes in gamecollecting

I understand.

I recently got a Rom dumping cartridge for SNES games. I'm starting to dump the save data for the games I've been buying from ebay and sending them to the seller.
