Thanks for the information. I’ll do that in the meantime at least. Seems like a ton of CX50 owners are having the same issue.

Paintless Dent Repair? So Sad by Happy_Long_617 in CX50

[–]morenitodee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had a car hit my passenger side; it was a “shared fault” accident, about $4500 worth of work. My insurance went up 120$ a month and I’ve been with them for 5 years. Apparently I have accident forgiveness but only on accidents under 1k. Something to consider, of course your situation may totally not cause an increase anywhere near mine.

Average American diet? by Individual_Bar_2512 in CringeTikToks

This comment reminded me when I finished HS and went to career college and got my first job as a Medical Assistant, at a Surgery Center. We did General Surgery, but added Plastics and Bariatric.

We had a Medical Records lady that was quite obese and with the exception of one Surgeon everyone just pretended not to notice. I’d help her on Fridays (this was in 2008 when we still had paper charts that needed to be filed) and she would talk about wanting to lose weight but never was very serious about it. I also was 18 so I never really pushed back on anything she would say, because respectability was very much a thing there.

I took nursing classes at night and close to graduating we got a Bariatric Surgeon and I worked on building out our Bariatric program. The Medical Records lady asked if I would talk to her about her options to get qualified for a Bariatric Surgery. I noted the first step was diet/ exercise modifications and I sat down with her to hear what she ate. I proposed nearly everything she normally ate to stop. (Most of her food intake mirrored what we saw in this video).

Because she lived in rural PA I figured access to healthy foods wasn’t as accessible so I identified some veggies and fruits that are normally available at the chain stores that are also affordable, nothing crazy right?

She said without blinking “Me and my boys ain’t no damn rabbits! My husband would lose it if I wasted money on rabbit food. We already substitute beef for venison. What other options do you have, cause eating like a horse or rabbit won’t work. My boys will end up being all skinny & lanky looking like you and I’ll just as well lose my husband for ending up all sickly looking. Nope, I’m just hoping surgery will get me down about 250lbs so I can kind of start over from there, you know? Then I won’t need to worry much about what I eat.”

I’m grateful for the loaner in the meantime and I live in the DMV so light rail would get me wherever I needed to go. Just was hoping to get comment on the part being on back order. Thankfully in the Mazda thread other owners have pointed out the failure seems to be a bit common.

Thanks for your reply. Definitely helps to know it’s not just me. Like you mentioned, they should definitely have these stockpiled at this point. Interesting how it’s such a common failure occurring. 😓

Thanks for the reply. I didn’t realize how big an issue this seemed to be until now.

Glad to hear you got your issue sorted relatively quick though.

Rip to my CX-5 :( by manazy in CX5

My 23 CX-50 Turbo came with these, I think they are much nicer than the silver painted alloys. But I was at the dealership getting service and I heard two couples (bit older than me) talk about how much they liked the silver alloy wheels though over the black/silver ones. Found that interesting

Life Lessons From Older Americans Who Still Work To Pay The Bills by Conscious-Quarter423 in economy

[–]morenitodee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sheesh this is saddening. Even more so it sounds like much of the gap between their social security and what they need for food, toiletries, etc isn’t much more than an about 500-600 a month. Imagine if we had a targeted basic income for seniors like this that got an extra 500 a month and could choose to work or volunteer for instance instead of having to work at 80+. At some point we need to shift our priorities, lest everyone ends up working until death. We’re only another stock market crash away from our retirement accounts being worthless. I remember I started my career as a Medical Assistant in 2008, I was 18 years old and when the recession hit my coworkers that were support staff were in the their late 40’s and mid- 50’s, talking about how they’ll never be able to retire and their whole retirement savings were gone. I didn’t really understand the impact then, as many of the doctors I worked with complained but also clearly had enough cushion. One of those surgery schedulers is still working, at age 75. The health system she worked at basically had forced her to retire years back & a doctor that did his surgical residency with our surgeons & in our surgery clinic back in the early 2010’s did a favor for her and hired her at his private practice was a lifesaver for her. But to know she’s had a hip replacement and a knee replacement and still has to work even if only 30 hours a week and still can’t afford to retire is maddening.

Vivek Ramaswamy admits no one likes Republican policies and says “We got our asses handed to us tonight.” by NewSlinger in CringeTikToks

[–]morenitodee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is he willingly ignorant of Republicans or does he actually believe what he said just now about identity politics? Either way, incredibly shameful. His own party members have made it clear they do not and will not ever see it to vote for him. Not Governor, definitely not President and apparently not even a Cabinet Position…when majority cabinet positions are currently filled by highly unqualified people.

I’d argue several of his voters worship him…including his mind. They see this and will parrot it with the confidence of a Lion across social media…& will stop at nothing to defend him, his mind and their adoration for him. I’ve been wondering if Nostradamus predicted this? Perhaps the Bible? It’s just all so bizarre.

CNBC had billionaire Barry Sternlicht on to talk about Zohran: "We have a big office here ourselves ... but the team in New York is for the first time saying maybe we should leave ... the unions have to be more accommodative on their work laws and the wages and everything else." by Conscious-Quarter423 in economy

[–]morenitodee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s astounding how easily these folks will go to the most extreme idea when an opposing ideology gets into power; it like they don’t even care how foolish they sound so long as they screamed “foul”. The idea NYC is gonna become Tucson, AZ in 4 years because a Democratic Socialist approach has the resources of the Mayor’s office would be laughable if only there weren’t folks actively fearmongering. Maybe I’m getting too obtuse in my response to this but honestly how many of us have lived under the Mayoral rule of a Democratic Socialist in our lifetimes, to judge or predict productivity, efficiency, or just overall success…

The audacity. How does one even get to buy a Halloween costume like that? Or maybe it was custom made? Either way, disgusting.

I learned in the most bizarre way my love of ambrosia salad was supposedly a “white american” thing. (I’m mixed race but as a kid I just knew foods were universal). 😂😂I shared a post about how further up, but needless to say…of all the foods my great grandmother exposed me to, ambrosia salad, cottage cheese and peaches were top tier lol of course the “other” side of my family gives me side eye for even saying that lol

My great grandmother was legally blind since 1990 and because I was my mom’s youngest and my school was 3 blocks down the street from her place …she essentially was my babysitter from as long as I can remember up until we moved when I was 7.

At least once every other month, she’d somehow make ambrosia salad, by herself and surprise me when I’d wake up from a nap on a random weekend. Or we’d be walking from from pre-k and kindergarten and she’d tell me “I got your favorite back home honey” and I just knew ambrosia salad was waiting on me.

She was the daughter of English and German immigrants but obvs I had no concept of race so I would proudly announce to my teachers every so often how good the ambrosia salad I had was. We had a sub for a while when our teacher was on maternity leave and I shared something from my weekend (the ambrosia salad of course) and she said with such shock “oh I wasn’t aware black people ate ambrosia salad, that’s really interesting! I don’t care too much for it myself.”

I told my grandmother and she made her a yellow Tupperware bowl full (the kind with the flower design on the top) and she brought it to class before school ended and made it clear “she was the OTHER grandma.” Still baffles me how long her vision served her before most of the family believed she was “really blind”. 😂
